  1. iv'e been trying to find some pricing on kits for my ls but all the searches either end up nowhere or at l-tune

and no offence to them but some of there prices are inflated by two or three hundred %. i don't mind paying a fair price but a spoiler that is only 4 inches wide and 2 inces tall dosen't cost 500 to 700 $$$$.

    please help

    thanks

  2. I recently installed a new set of rims and tires on my 98 Ls400 (17''American eagle series 193 and Khumo 235-55-17) the stock 16'' michelins rode great but the car needed a little more sporty looking rims I thought. After the swap there was a bad vibration in the steering wheel at say 65-75mph, the tire shop found that the front wheels were out of balance 1/2 oz, steering wheel vibe went away, but after that I still noticed a vibration through the whole car, so bad the passenger head rest shakes at 75-80 mph. After balancing yet again and finding a rear wheel with no weights whatsoever the vibe was maybe 50% better. An alighnment was done ,now the steering wheel is not straight and still a vibration, I'm at whits end ,the car has been to the tire shop 4 times and still doesnt drive nice at highway speeds. I would really appreciate some help, this car is a great driving car but at 75 it is annoying to drive. thanx Ed

I'm having the same vibration, I put new tires and rims on and put 3000 miles on them went to lexus for a oil change, tire rotation. when i got it back the steering wheel shakes at highway speed and I feel a vibration. I think they might have left off one of the hubcentering rings or stuck two on one wheel. mine where only plastic .

  3. can you open the fuel filler door? You (or someone) may have inadvertently hit the lockout button between the two buttons. Try inserting a key into the keyhole and turning; it might unlock the lockout and bring the release back to life.
i can still open my trunk with the key fob so im gessing its just the swith inside the car, is this a easy fix please help im getting tired of having to turn off the car to open it with the key fob :(

yes i can still open the fuel door, i had never even payed any attention to the button inbetween i must have inadverntaly hit it. thanks.

  5. Hope this isn't a stupid question, but I am a new owner of a 2004 LS430 and I cannot find the dipstick to check the transmission fluid level. Can anyone tell me how to check the transmission fluid level? Thanks in advance...

they dont want you find it , on my 2001 its beside the valve cover on the drivers side about 4-5 inches down if i remember correctly , put on gloves or use a pair of pliers if your engine is hot, its a tight fit . i think it was a green colored end. i ges lexus doesnt think its owners should check tranny fluid cause its a pain to get to

  6. Hello, all!

I'm so glad to be back to these forums. I sold my 99 ES and was using an in-between car (Nissan) for quite a while until I was able to afford my LS430 that I have now...and I love it!

    Question:

I recently returned from a 4 week vacation. My car was in a carport the whole time. On my first drive I noticed creaking sounds in the car that appear to be coming from the windows. Before I left there was not a single creak in my car. I searched the forums and found a couple posts that had (have) this issue. I tried the silicone spray, but no luck. I definitely don't think it's the leather. It's most prominent when going over bumps and going around corners.

One of the things I love about this car is the super-quiet interior, but now it's not! :cries:

    Any help is appreciated!

I have an 01 LS and have noticed that if i dont wax the insides of the door posts and keep the rubber on the doors clean that it tends to make a strange noise hope this helpspost-34562-1190926823_thumb.jpg
