  1. I'm looking for recommendation of where to purchase the CD (or DVD?) to update the maps for my navigation system. I believe the dealer price is about $400. Is there anywhere to purchase for < $200???

    Thank you.

    Hello,

It is typical for Lexus to offer optional map updates each fall that may be installed by a dealer. See your dealer or visit the Lexus Owner’s Site https://auth.owners.lexus.com/lexusowners/a...ssl/OwnersLogin to see if a map update is available for your vehicle and to find out what mapping changes are included in the update. Your dealer can also provide you with the cost for the optional mapping update. Lexus typically will offer these updates for a vehicle for at least four years after that vehicle is built.

Suggestion: Do not purchase map update from EBay or other auction sources due to untrustworthy sources, pirated DVDs, and possible damaged map data due to copying of source.

  2. can anyone tell me what would be the best navigation system to get for my 95 sc300? i lhave been looking at the tomtoms but they are just a little to expensive for my taste......anyone know of one that is ease to install around 2-300 dollars.????

I would buy a Garmin Nuvi. It does almost everything but it is a little more costly. www.garmin.com.

I bought my Garmin 350 and I love it! I don't know how I lived without it.

tgarcia, can you post a pic of your Garmin mounted in your car? I'd really like to see what some mounting options might be in our car for GPS. I've already got a mount for my Treo 700p off to the passenger side of the center console (snake mount with suction cup), and I don't think there's another spot I'd even want to put another device. It didn't take me long to decide on the spot for my Treo, given that no other spot seemed to work for me.

I would love to post a pic for you but my digital camera broke a couple weeks back and I haven't replaced it yet. Mine is basic snake mount with sunction cup as well.

  3. As a newbie to Lexusland, I find myself having to bother others for answers. ADVthanksANCE.

We own a 04 LS430. The currently installed Nav system version is not the current one. Can a user buy the nav DVD and install it him(her)self? If so, what's involved.

    Thanks.
