  1. ...in my case when I do total milage over miles driven on a tank my estimates r about 2-3 mpg less then what the computer reads.

Same here... I'm getting about 2-3 mpg less than the reported "tank average". IS250 RWD, in mostly city driving in traffic. No long trips yet, so don't know hiway mpg.

  2. Looking for a reputable installer, given the overwhelming reviews in this forum to go with a clear bra solution. Anyone aware of a good clear bra and also a window tint specialist, preferably in the east bay? It's unlikely the same place can do both, but checking around.

Lexus of Pleasanton recommended Kar Tunz, which is also located in Pleasanton. I dropped by and Kar Tunz has a nice shop and clean work area, and seems quite reputable. I'm still on the fence wrt getting the clear bra and tinting - almost $900 for both, but would not hesistate to use them.

    Kar Tunz Phone: 925.460.8869

3657C Old Santa Rita Rd. (just down the street from Lexus of Pleasanton)

Good luck. Let me know what you decide, as it may help me decide...

  3. My 2007 IS 350 has the HID Adaptive headlights that turn with the car's front wheels. I've noticed that on mine, the low-beams do not reach out in front very far - far less than on any vehicle I've driven before. This is somewhat unnerving ...

    Russ,

I have an '07 250 with HIDs and noticed exactly the same thing. Driving with low beams on a dark road, the edge of the beams is very distinct and seems to quickly drop off into darkness. As you note, this seems quite different than any other car I've driven.

I plan on having this checked by the dealer at the 5K service.

  4. My new IS250 '07 (awd) is running too rich according to the dealer. Every ~600 miles I end up with my 'check engine' light and numerous other warnings showing up on my dash. ...

Is anyone else having this problem? Given that it's a firmware problem I would expect other '07 models to be having this problem. I'm also amazed that it's going to take until Feb to fix the problem.

    Hi Tom

I also have an 07 250, but so far, no problems with the mixture or CE lights. However, have < 5000 miles.

  5. The 3M Scotch Guard is a high impact clear adhesive material that is custom applied to the full nose of the car. The side front panels by the head lights, installed on both the mirror's in the front and inside all four of the handles to keep key, ring and finger scratches from getting on the pait. It lasts about 5 years and can be re-done as well. It costs from $895 - $1150 depending on who you have do it. Lexus marks it up about 30% but they make sure it's right and will keep putting it back on if for any reason you are not happy or if it should ever come loose for 4 years or 48,000 miles.

This also protects your paint from UV effects over time as well. Below is a link to the product. Good Luck ...

Thanks very much for all the info... will take a look at the provided link.

  6. I had my first oil change at Lexus of Portland this week and they did a very good job. Much to my surprise they noticed that my 3M scotch guard mask was not done well so they had a new mask put on the hood and mirror. In addition, when I got my XM Radio they originally mounted the antenna on the rear part of the trunk and today then removed it and installed the XM into the fin in the hood.

They told me that with the 2007's the XM should be done in the Fin and on of the younger installers did the trunk in error. Thank you Lexus of Portland! ;)

    Hi,

Nice to hear a story about good service... BTW, what is the "3M scotch guard mask" that you refer to? I assume it's to protect against rock damage, etc. Is it easily removable/replaceable, visible?

    Cheers,
