  1. it wouldn't make sense for them to make such an earth friendly car with a wood interior.

What materials are considered earth friendly?? I mean most of the so called 'wood' is really plastic, so you aren't killing trees. Fact is, YEA, our RX-400h looks closer to cheap, than ritzy. Just saw an article in the paper saying how the Lexus doesn't sell well in Japan ... where the opinion is that European cars are viewed as being more luxurious. When time allows, I WILL cover all the chinsey metal with fake wood trim, including the steering wheel and shift knob.

I have maple trim and wood steering wheel on my 400. I previosly owned a BMW 525 and the interior on the 400 is much more luxurious to me than the beamer. But then again, I'm not as picky as most.

  2. $1500 more, one MPG less, 3500# vs 2000# towing............

I ended up getting the AWD simply because the car with it was the color I wanted and it had the options I liked. I'm getting 27 mpg average, assuming the data in the car's computer is correct. Really like the bluetooth and nav. They both work great. I was driving a 2004 BMW 525i before, so not quite the same handling, but fun driving nonetheless.
