  2. I have a 2002 GS430...It has 17 inch rims stock but chrome I plan on keeping....

the car has about 100k and I was thinking up upgrading the suspension...

I love the smooth ride of the lexus..I occasionally get wild on it..but thats once inawhile..

my question is... should I replace only the shocks and struts? if so what kind?

Also would now be a good time to change out the springs? if so what kind? I wouldnt mind a 1 inch drop..but dont wnat to sacrifice the ride quality.

    thanks for your help!!!

  3. $1200.00 sounds cheap to me. My Lexus service dept wanted about twice that for brakes and rotors on my old ES300 (1995, 175k mi, 20% left on brake pads).

There was a lot more wrong with the ES, so I just traded the whole thing in towards my GS300

you guys are mad... I paid 120 for pads, 400 for new rotors, and a shop charged 100 to put it all on. $620 out the door

buy your own parts from lexus online parts places like sewell lexus parts..and bring it all to a shop for installation. youll save a ton

  4. you can just use bulbs with those LED Tail lights???What kind do you have?

you are going to need load resistors.

    http://www.automotiveled.com/

the thing is that LED's use less energy than normal halogen bulbs. so the draw of power is less making your light ecu think that it is not getting enough power. each bulb will need a specific resistor. it can get costly. it is a pity they don't tell you this when you purchase the lights themselves.

thanks for your help guys, I am a little irritated at the ebay seller because he never mentioned that in his listing!! I went ahead and just got the OEM trunk lights (saves me the hassle)

  5. yea i only get the nav voice on the drivers side...the side that works..

    hmmm

i guess i could try testing the speakers to see if they are blownn....but what are the odds of both front and back speakers blown...

    jesus...this is drving me nuts

Well, if it's anything like my 2006 LS430 Mark Levinson with navigation, there is a "DSP" menu in which the system can be optimized for different seating positions within the car, including one setting which is specific for the driver only.

There is also a "Sound" menu where balance, fade, treble, mid and bass, can be adjusted.

yea i tried that..when i fade to the right..its really really faint..then when i put towards the middle..the driver side..comes alive and sounds perfect

possibilies . number one is the speaker is blown but you havent said whether the voice nav still works or is it faint also. if voice nav also faint then . number 2 the drivers door speaker gets signal from the amp to the nav computer amp in the trunk. there the voice nav amp inside the computer interupts and mutes the sound signal for voice communications. it could be stuck on mute. the only way to know for sure would be to switch the computer with a known working computer .
