My wife had trouble starting the GS300 the other day, a very cold day here in Dallas. It took her about 5 attempts. The engine was making a turning-over sound, but it would not start. Since then, there has been no problem starting it.

What impending problem does this indicate?

I live in Florida and normal temp day around 70 in the morning. I had the exact same problem the other day and no problem since. I like you would like to hear from others if they have had this problem and what the solution was.

Just curious to see what kinda mileage you are all getting...Ive been averaging anout 23 and thats getting 92-93 octane - I didnt fill it with 87 once and didnt notice any difference driving wise or MPG wise - which I thought was odd. Its very flat here in indiana and its a pretty good mix of city-hwy driving.

Not sure if their is anything I can do to increase my gas mileage ?

Anyone put a CAI in their lexus - wondering how much boost that will give me and if it helps out gas mileage?

I have 99 lexus with 85k miles. Lexus maintained since birth. 22 mpg city = I run 92-93 octane. I have a light foot which I can tell you from experience makes a big difference in gas mileage.

I have a new 2003 Lexus GS-300. It’s not driven every day. When I go to start the car after a few days of being in garage the parking brake light indicator is lit. I had it in for the 1000-mile check up and informed them of this problem. They did the normal topping off of fluids and stuff but the problem still exists. Anybody else ever have this problem and if so what was the solution?

I have a 99 lexus gs300 with 85k miles. I have the same problem - when it happens I pull the emergency brake release lever as if the brakes were on and the light goes off. I have not checked into the cause but on mine I would guess the release switch needs adjustment.

I just purchased a 91 LS400 (love it). Well maintained car but a few small problems. One is the right door lock will lock with the remote and the door switch but will not unlock. I have not solved that problem yet. The other was the Driver Door handle (same problem as yours). If you look up into the handle as you open the door you will see that the metal has broken away on both sides which is causing it to scrub on the door. I knew I would not be happy with a handle from a junkyard and the color match would not be correct. So I ordered a new handle from my Local Lexus dealer over the phone and it arrived at me door about a week later via UPS. Perfect color match and I am going to have it installed by a local store that installs and repairs keyless enty systems. The handle cost me with shipping around $ 185.00. I suspect I will pay $ 50.00 for the install. I will let you know. :D

My 91 LS 400 passenger door will lock using the remote and the electric door switch on the door but will not unlock electrically. It will only unlock when I physically push the manual button. A new electric door lock for the passenger door cost over $ 250.00 and I was hoping maybe someone that has had this problem could tell me if it could be something loose within the mechanics of the electical solenoid that opens the lock. :(
