This P0325 code may show up intermittently or the Service Engine light may be lit constantly.
Possible Solutions- Check the resistance of the knock sensor (compare it to factory specs)
- Check for broken/frayed wires leading to the sensor
- Replace the knock sensor
I supposed since you will be lifting those parts out again. Clean your idle air control valve (IACV) http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/30723-step-by-step-instructions-for-iacvidle-air-control-valveiscthrottl/

Knock Sensor
If you get a code P0330 Knock Sensors ES2000-2001Replacing two Knock Sensors. it took me 9 hours. Parts replaced:
1. Knock sensors from rockauto.com, AIRTEX Part # 5S2254 cost $105.79
2. Knock Sensor wiring harness
3. Intake gaskets
4. By-pass hose
5. AntifreezeReplaced wiring harness 82219-07010 and by-pass hose from Lexus Dealer because I didn't have the energy to go through the whole mess again. Dealer charged me $42.00 for the harness. As well change the spark plugs cause they are breeze to change with half the engine missing. I did the work myself 3 years ago with no further problem.

When removing interior door panel to change out a door mirror. The power window switch assy is pry up from the front end and not from the rear end, using a flat tip screw driver.

Jay just simply go to Lenore reply and click on the link "Oxygen Sensor", and enter year, make and model of your Lexus. After geting your Part number go to Ebay as well but make sure the product Denso would be your choice. Let us know the correction result.

I bought my 2000 ES300 in 2006. Since then, I have replaced (2) A/F O2 Sensors, (2) Knock Sensors, (1) Coil pack on #2 cylinder, Window regulator/motor front passenger side, IACV under throttle body, (1) top and front engine mounts and (4) shock struts (I did my own work). I had the timing belt replaced for $500.00 and replaced four tires 2x since then. The hards job I performed was the Knock Sensor, took me 8 hrs and $320.00 in parts. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=30723&hl=
My wife is happy with this reliable car. She drives it everyday 40 miles per day to La Jolla, San Diego ca.

I am not sure if this makes any sense but the air inlet rubber hoses after the MAF could be crack. With this crack hoses will allow more air to enter the TB without the MAF sensor to measure its intake. I found this code on our forums http://us.lexusowner...71&fromsearch=1 I hope this visual check could be of some help. I replaced both AF O2 sensor because of false indication with ECU. Check the Dogbone upper mount, and what correction as stated on the link.

Suggest to get the car on racks by a mechanic who does alignment and suspension inspection . The mecahnic should show you what could be loose or damage. Or do your own inspection, while car on jacks, one person grab one side of the wheel at a time while the other with a flashlight checking to see if upper or lower arm bearing for looseness, or rack and pinion rodend bearing loose, or missing struts bolts/nuts. Wheel lug nuts missing or spindle to CV joint nut loose. Or simply out of alignment. Inspection shouldn't cost alot, it's your safety that counts.

Use quick struts. They include the spring, the mounts, which also go bad. Not to mention it will be easier to do, much less time and work (no spring compressor needed!)
They only list rear struts for the V6 Camry and ES300, and they are very expensive. So instead, I plan on using the quick struts for the four-cylinder Camry (cheaper, more brands available too). I don't really think this will be a problem because I know that the 5S-FE is only about 10 lb lighter than the 1MZ-FE. eBay has all four for under $400, and Rock Auto has Raybestos brand quick struts for about $500 (for all four).
Unfortunately KYB quick struts are only available for the XV20 third-gen ES300/fourth-gen Camry.
I replaced all four with Monroe Sensa TraC Strut, first few months the ride was stiff after that great ride. I wish I had known about the Quick Strut, that would save me some work time, two years ago. Rockauto.com quick strut cost $136.00 ea. After installing those strut alignment is required.

Hello

Hello Lexus Owners - I am the proud owner of a 2001 ES 300 Lexus,112,344 miles.
The engine light and trac light are now consistently on, have tried cleaning/changing the gas cap resetting the codes via disconnecting the battery, but the lights come back after 20 miles or so.
I have decided to go ahead and have my local mechanic change out both sensors / wiring harness/ intake gaskets and since half the engine will be off, get them to change out the spark plugs as some of you have suggested. What other maintenance should I perform ? I have some major leaks such as the with the valve cover.
I am trying to keep the other labor reasonable and my mechanic works with me, since the charge for the knock sensors should be a couple of hours, with half of the engine being exposed I want to take advantage of this to perform other maintenance. Any suggestions?
Let me give you some direction that help P0330 Link and Knock Sensor and Knock Sensor replaced

We have a 2001 ES300 & I have the shop repair manual which is supposed to cover 1996-2001, but the diagram for the Engine Control Module is wrong. It shows 4 connectors and the one in this car has 5. In the manual that I have, there's a diagram on page DI-19 which shows the terminals for the 4 connector ECM, but I would like one for the 5 connector ECM. I wasted $15 and bought a 2 day pass to Toyota's TechInfo site, but you're highly limited as to what you can see in the repair manuals.
The reason that I'm asking for this is that recently the Check Engine and Track Off light came on. I checked the error code and it was P0500 which indicates a problem with the speed sensor. It immediately came back on after clearing the error. The speedometer displays fine, so I suspect that it's a problem with the cable between the speedo and the ECM.
What's interesting is that the anti-theft indicator led on the climate control panel flashes when you drive and the flashing rate is relative to your speed. I suspect that there's a short between the SPD output and this LED & I think that if I can see where the commonality of wiring is located, that I can limit my search.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I did have a Master key made but I had a chip available for my Lexus Es300 2000.
Here is a Website for ES300 2002 http://stores.ebay.com/1010keys/_i.html?_nkw=lexus+es300+2002+key&submit=Search&_sid=1009547818
This is the same website I used. Perhaps ask if they sell a chip for your Es300 2002 Master key replacement. Programing was easy. http://www.clublexus.com/gallery/data/500/key_prog.jpg
I went to the Lexus dealer in person with my car registration, personal ID and asked them for my FCC ID code. They gave it without any problem.
