  1. What do you guys suggest I should upgrade first, and with what?

I will be picking up my SC430 any day now, but want to plan what I should upgrade.

    I am thinking abouT:

    Lowering it (tein coils?)

    Intake (Injen short ram?)

    Exhaust( No ideas)

    LuxLink

Not in any specific order.. What is everyones suggestion.post-91611-1238987475_thumb.jpg

PS....The first thing most folks do is REPLACE THE DOG UGLY WHEELS! Tire Rack is an excellent place to check wheels and replacing the Run Flat Tires. These things seem to be a real sore spot and drive folks nuts....loud and rough riding.

Add a built in radar detector. Will pay for itself quickly.

  2. Has anyone tried this product?

I just located a company that sells a product that will allow me to open my top

    remotely using the remote fob!

Too bad my local Lexus Dealer won't install it...

I'm going to find someone to install this...

I had mine installed by Xtreme Performance (http://www.xtremeperf.com/contact.html). The unit also includes remote start, but they recomend a different unit for remote start.

I have my windows open with the single press and hold. You have to wait until it fully cycles before you can start the car, it leaves the car onefor an extra minute after it is done. I had the unit get confused.

I just had to have mine replaced, it started going nuts -- it kept trying to start. I had an early version, w/o the 1 touch down feature.

Though it was out of warranty, Luxury Motor Works gave me a break.

Since they were intimate with the SC430 wiring, I asked them about an input lockout bypass. They told me that they tried (before) to bypass the input lockout, but was unable to get the bypass working correctly. Of course, if they were able to, they would have something else I would have bought.

  3. I have a 2003 SC430 and for no apparent reason a very long 1.5 foot crack appeared on the windshield. I was having the back bumper replaced at a body shop. The owner of the shop said the car wasn't jacked up or anything. They washed it after replacing the bumper and while moving it into the stall they noticed the very long crack that wasn't there 10 minutes ago. It starts on the driver's side top, center and ran straight down then curved at the center of the glass towards the middle of the glass. I just read a thread about stress fractures in the windshield in the GX470 Forum so I will call Lexus's Service Department to look into it being a Stress Fracture.

Went to Lexus - They said stress fractures usually start from the bottom of the windshield. They took it to their Professional Glass shop. (Ace Glass Shop off of Ward Avenue) to be inspected. The expert there said it appears to be a stress fracture. He saw one start from the same place. At that point in the center of the driver's side at the top of the glass, there is a clip that sits under the windshield. He could tell because the glass break at that point was popped up a little and was smoother at the tail end in the center of the windshield.

Out of warranty so the body shop will have it replaced.

That is bull. I have a 2006 SC430 and the warranty covered the crack in my winshield. I had just driven from Los Angeles to Santa Clara and saw the crack on the next morning. This crack was from the passenger side pillar. Did they claim it was from impact? If so, from where?

  5. I would not recomend doint this for the reason that most of the time when we try to "fool" one of the networked systems it dosent work. The Nv will not understand why the GPS has the car moving but there is no speed input. I'm shure that it will kick a NAV code. Now There is a slpice (4E) at the center dash and junction block (above the glove box) with 2 white/red wires. These are your speed input wires. If not there on the right side of the dash/dash support there is a conector (IG1). It is a 18 pin conector with white/red wires in pin 8 and 18. Pin 8 is for the NAV Ecu and pin 18 is for the Amp.

I thought that this was exactly the 'fix' for the nav input on the 2006 GS. Is this a pullup signal or pull down -- should I shunt to ground or let float? I was thinking of making a patch cable so that I won't cut any of the original wires.

I guess I will have to make a run to the service department and see if they let me read through the schematics.

    Thanks.

  6. The "NAV" and "Handsfree" system is all controled by Navigation ECU and a few others. The Bluetooth controls are programed in to it and there is no way that I know of to change it. (my prius customers ask the same thing) Sorry.

Are you saying there is no seperate speed input to the safety lockouts as in the other units?
