  1. I have had my SC for 15 years. A beautiful black on black.

Many engine and other parts have been replaced.

    I'm now considering trading in my 2007 RX350 for a 2011 RX350.

The dealership will also take the SC as a trade.

The SC's were the most beautiful car Lexus ever built.

If I keep it there will be more parts to replace.

Anyone want to take over the love I've given the SC?

  2. I have a 07 RX350, is there a way to reset the tire pressure light, make it go away. I went to the place I bought the tires and they checked all including the spare and they are now at the correct psi.

Trying to save a trip to the dealership

There is a way to reset described in the manual, but the light should be 'out' if the tires and spare are at the proper psi.

I guess the tire place didn't check it right.

  3. There is a lot of negativity and bull crap in this thread and doesn't need to be here.

For one thing, lexypam, all that guy was saying is that the "best" is objective to the driver and individual. To get the best possible fit for this guy it's best for him to state his desired outcome with the springs/shocks.

Then the genius JohnH chimes in with absolutely nothing constructive to say and just further adds to the idiocy of this thread.

It's pretty clear JohnH and lexypam know absolutely nothing about their cars. If anything, you two give lexus owners a bad name not the ones in this thread actually trying to constructively help someone.

I don't HAVE to know anything about my car, I know that (to me) it seemed Mr skperformance was rude in the initial response to tc32. tc32 had to spend his time responding to a still rude response to Mr skperformance. You have lost the point. Why couldn't sk performance just be polite and helpful? Is he excused of his rudness because he "knows everything about cars"?

decypher you have "chimed in" on uncalled for name calling. How rude!!!

  5. While parked at a guy friends house, I was leaving and saw his jealous other girl friend begining to back up into my driver side door, I started running in time to almost grab her out of her car as she saw me a drove off. I reported it to the police and they made a report of a "hit and run". I gave them her license plate they contacted her and she denied it all. So for the body and paint repairs the insurance waived the deductable that you don't pay in a "hit and run". Total $800. and that was at an honest body shop where they love my car. 1996 black SC300.

I too get exercise parking where no cars are in the parking lots.

  6. I traded in my 1990 LS 400 for my 1996 SC 300, with 10K miles. I now have 134K miles and I have loved every mile driving this car. I have given it all the service it needs. It has held up very well. I bought a 2007 RX350 with entertainment systems in the headrests for the Grandchildren. Car seats don't fit in the SC. Today's economy I am tossing over the idea of selling it and have tried. I am happy when they don't buy it. Everytime I go to the garage to drive the RX I just love to look at my SC it would really break my heart to sell it. A beautiful car on its own and don't know why some of you change and do the things you do to them. Lexus has not made another car to post-24587-1222712902_thumb.jpgmatch the SC !

  7. You will not be sorry if you buy the SC300. I love mine. I sent you a picture. It is still in perfect shape. Fun to drive. I think it is the most beautiful car

Lexus produced. Looking at them go down the road, or just to see mine in the garage is a good feeling. Of course the color makes a big difference.

  8. since u dont drive it any more u should sell it for me and i decided not to get it.. but i know every1 at the dealership personally my sister works there so their sales manager is gonna go get me one from one of their private auctions on friday so i think it will work out better that way

DID THE DEALERSHIP FIND YOU A GOOD 96 SC300? IF SO HOW MUCH WAS IT?

  9. I have a 96SC300, black on black with 134,000. Very good condition, no warning lights. For the condition it is in I can ask $6,600. But you won't have to worry about somthing going wrong. I bought it with 10K miles and have taken care of it. There are some out there in good condition.

  10. I bought my SC300 August 1997 from Longo Lexus, ElMonte, Ca. $34,000. 1300 miles on it I am second owner. It is black on black, 132,000 miles now. I have enjoyed every single mile. It has been serviced by Lexus dealship, except this summer I had a parts repair shop reffered by another Lexus owner replace the alternator, rack and pinion. The headlamps are foggy, I have the parking lot dings fixed. Now the cd changer does not work says error so

    wonder what that will cost.

  11. OK I have a 96 SC300, I've had someone here tell me the same thing that it could be be power steering pump leaking on the alternator.

I have a brand new battery, one day on the way home from work the car began to lose power and then still running but would not go forward. Towed it home and it sat for over a month. When I found a place to have it fixed, the alternator was bad, but also replaced the rack and pinion said they were really bad. My point is with a new alternator the car starts up now I don't drive it everyday because I drive my new RX350. I haven't had any drips that were suppose to be from the power steering pump since then.

The service repair guy said that the fuse's were all messed up and that could have been the problem too.

I need to sell my car but some days don't have the heart to do so. It's a beautiful black on black with 133K miles. Well taken care of never been to an auto car wash. I wax and wash it myself.

  12. :cries: :cries:

My 1996 SC300. Put in a new battery last week. Replaced the alternator fuse. Drove it to work yesterday on the way home it lost the power barely getting me through an intersection and to pull over to the curb. Hit the gas pedal several times and it just wouldn't rev up. turned it off and wouldn't restart. Had it taken to my home. Can't afford the dealerhsip this month. Tow Truck driver says it is probably the alternator. Shouldn't cost much but it is a Lexus.

    Help

I love my car. took this pic at the Bixby Bridge Big Sur Ca.

  13. There is a rattle in the front area. I think it is the empty passenger seat. I have adjusted it to different settings and it still rattles.

I will bring it up at my next service.

My RX is the first of my other two Lexus's I've owned that at a stop sign the engine idles very rough. The water in my water bottles looks like they are in a blender.

The first time I plugged in the cell phone charger at the dash the whole unit came out of the dash.

  14. I've had my black RX350 for a year now. Thought I'd made a mistake buying it. My other car is a 96 SC300. But needed the room for grandbabies.

Getting used to it, plus the battery is dead in my SC replaced a alternator fuse and now it won't start. Back to the RX the only thing I don't like is the gears shifting are very noticable while driving.
