  1. I would venture to guess most of the people on this site are interested in increased perf., I apreciate the opinons and research of the products youve tested. My 95 400 is the same color as yours with tinted windows as well. Would like to know what you did with the headlamp !Removed!. as I have one that gets cloudy from time to time.

  2. Maybe I know cars better than computers, my problem is that I have posted replies to topics 3 days ago and they are noy showing up unless you go to the post and click on replies. When I first joined this forum all I did was write the reply and click add reply at the bottom, am I doing something wrong?

  3. My 95 400 does the same thing and I have changed the tranny fluid and filter, also have new timing belt/ chain I keep thinking I need to put in a new set of plugs but have procrastinated, I keep thinking of a high horsepower speedboat when you first pull out on the water it sounds rough, but as soon as you crank it out in the deep water it runs perf. :)

  4. My 95 sc400 is in ex. cond. and I was leary to cut up the airbox, but I also felt the car needed a boost in power, so after studing all the articles out there I finally made the modification. I had to order the 2mm polypropylene sheeting from a speacialty supply co. for $15.00. I think the guy from club soarer was the best and simplest and used a cardboard pattern took about an hour. Next up I got a quote from the local best exhaust shop on a magnaflow 2into1 cat. conv. with both XL magnaflow mufflers inst. for $520.00, he suggested retaining the fact. resonators to keep the noise down and shouldnt affect flow. :)

  5. When I first looked at the planet soarer website about making a bfi for a soarer, it said to bend down a part of the grill to allow air to enter the area of the open space of the intake area. When looking at the sc400 it appears that if you used a 2" hole saw you could drill 2 or 3 holes in the bottom area in the front facia area. Has anyone else realised this needs to be done, or would it let in rain water?

  6. I have put about 2000 miles on my 95 sc400 and have never seen a hint of smoke. I normally drive 7 miles to work and back and am normally a conservitive driver. However I took a 300 mile tpip to visit my dad last weekend and on one staightaway hit 100 mph, then the next day i tached the car to 5700 rpm twice, the next morning when i started it up it puffed gray smoke i hit the gas a couple of times and it still smoked. I drove back home and started it the next morning and you couldnt see any smoke, i am wondering about the cat. converters at 119,700.

  7. I finally got the time to do the rear diff. lube change, very quick and easy, if I had it to do over I would check my large torx sockets before i ran out and bought a 10mm socket. My fluid looked like new with 118000 miles, but im sure money well spent. There is a nice magnet on the bottom plug mine was just covered with thin black dust. I defenately recommend a 1/2 drive adapter and rachet to go in the 3/8 socket, the bottom plug was very tight. ;)

  8. I was over at TeamLexus website, and there was a service bulletin to the effect of if you are in a humid area you may have a odor when turning on the a.c., but it did not say what to do. I have sprayed a product called OZIUM, an air sanitzer in the air intake ducts by winheild with a.c. running to remove smells. ;)

    windsheild that is.

  9. I was just looking under the hood of my 95 sc400 at the area where the BFI is supposed to draw air from, and it appears to me that the big open space in front of the radiator, does not get air flow from the nose of the car. On the first BFI that was on a soraor car, they wanted you to bend a peice of the front facia, I realize the front ends of the 2 cars are not exactly the same ,but the BFI-1 and 2 show no facia diverions for air flow.
