  1. so every 50 starts or so, the engine will turn a fraction of the way over and then *click* no power--it sounds anemic when turning a fraction of the way over, or it just doesn't do anything at all. all I have to do it try it a couple of times, usually no more than 3 or 4 times this electrical wierdness is gone and then it makes a robust, normal starting noise and the engine turns over just fine. This happens so infrequently it isn't a problem now, but is it indicative of a more serious problem?

    What is going on?

  2. probably nothing major, but somewhat irritating. with the window down, my front left (or right maybe) makes a hiss or pssst! sound (something pneumatic sounding like a shock?) when the wheel travels quickly downward to max out as I ram across my nieghbors irritating speed bumps. This sound is far more pronounced in the front than in the rear, leading me to believe that this is a normalish sound that has grown in volume beyond normal levels.

    do I need new shocks?

  3. I am missing left third row seat in my LX470 2003. Having hard time to find it. Lexus dealership wants $2500 for it which is too much. Couldn't find it on e-bay or junk yards.

Does anybody have an idea where to find used seat? or maybe somebody have it for sale?

One more question. Do 2000-2003 Land Cruiser third row seats fit 2003 LX470?

    Thanks.

I have one from a 1999 lx 470, biege leather, in good shape. I am also on the west coast but obviously from seattle. send me an $$$ offer, excluding shipping and i'll consider it.

  4. The only other idea I can think of is to tweak with the height sensors. Some guys have forced their vehicles to stay permanently in the "high" mode by fabricating a longer AHC height sensor bracket at each wheel. I'm wondering if you could do the same in the other direction. You'd lose the "high" mode, though. If you want total (manual) control of the AHC at any speed, the little computer is the only way. The AHC is a clever idea in that you get the extra clearance when offroad, so you don't have to put up with driving a lifted vehicle that gets worse fuel economy, higher center of mass, etc. Yeah, it's too bad one couldn't drive on the freeway in either the low or normal modes. You'd probably get 2 mpg improvement in low mode.

i've tried to find this controller on the internet and only have seen others talking about it. is it made by "JDM"? I want one tho, if you know more please tell

I would not want to permanently loose the high mode, I go surfing alot and have already actually 4byed my truck out at the coast. Center locking differentials are schweet!

  5. I have the rx330 with the performance package that can go up and down and it lets me be on low for any speed, neutral for anyspeed, but when on high, it will go back to low at maybe 30 mph. Oh, and if i go past 60 or 65 mph, it will auto go to low mode for better milage.

cool for you  but i have a lx470

oh. there isn't any way to lower the truck and keep it low for freeway speeds?

Yes and no. In stock mode, the LX will stay in "N" mode at 30km/hr or higher in 4wd high mode. If you overload the vehicle (over 1000 lbs incl. passengers), the AHC will revert to "L" mode. Otherwise, the only way to get the vehicle to drive in the height you want is to get one of those controllers sold in Japan. The simple ones (like the Banks) allow you to merely lock the AHC mode at any speed. The fancy ones allow you to adjust the front/rear height in 10mm increments while stopped or moving and have a few memory settings.

    thanks!

  6. Ok, i am a total n00b, but I just got a 1999 lx 470, and when i try to lower or raise the suspension, it does so just fine, until i start going and the truck shifts into second gear. At that time the suspension automatically reverts ot the "N" setting in the middle. Is there a trick to making it stay at the desired hieght? or is my truck a lemon?
