  1. I've had my IS 250 for not even a month and I was pulling into a parking spot and when I parked a check VSC light came on. There's less then 2500 miles on the car, and having in mind my first oil change is coming up; should I just make a trip to the dealership and have them look at it and get the oil change there too? I'm not sure on how much Lexus charges for there oil change. What do you all think?

I have a 06 IS350 and my check VSC light came on when it hit around 25k miles. I brought it to the dealer and after they had the car for 2 days trying to figure out how to fix it, so they just replaced some computer and it was fine..... I hit 30k last week and the CHECK VSC light started coming back so i need to bring it in AGAIN and have them try to fix it AGAIN. Either way, its still covered under warranty so i didnt pay for anything, i just was without my car for a couple days but they gave me a loaner so it wasnt to bad. Its just a pain in the a$$ but they say when the VSC light comes on your ABS and traction control are disabled. Dont know how tru that is but thats what the lead tech there said. Hope this helps

  2. Good solution for radar detector for IS350? I know which radar detector to get but the bummer is it is a corded radar detector and the cord would run right in the middle of the gps screen. I am contemplating the solo 2 cordless but I am not that excited about going thru a ton of batteries. Anyone using a radar detector for the IS350 with nav? If so what is your setup and where are the power cables runing?

    Thanks...

I have the SOLO 2 and it got to be a pain replacing batteries so I ended up just getting the power cord for it. I had to replace the batteries about once every 3-4 weeks. I have also heard of some people just getting the radar detector hard wired to the battery so it turns on and off when the car is turned on or off. I havn't heard of any complaints about it ... yet.

  3. how do you guys like the stock sound system in the 2006 IS models? is it any good? the stock system is described as:

"13-speaker 194-watt Premium Sound System with Automatic Sound Levelizer (ASL) and in-dash, single-feed, six-disc CD auto-changer."

i hate to dish out more dough for mark levinson, but decent quality sound is important too. as long as it sounds better than a sound system i would find in a hyundai, it would be all good.

I was impressed with the highs with the ML sound system. If you are use to after market sound systems, the highs are probably the only thing you will be fully satisfied with. I am currently shopping for an upgrade with the mids, lows, and if i get a good deal, i will also upgrade the highs. Either way you go, it will definitely sound better than anything a Hyundai will ever put in there’s. ;)

  4. I’m trying to buy a IS 350 with the Nav/Mark Levinson Package… I would like the Tungsten Pearl with Black Interior… BUT.. The Dealer in Houston Texas and a couple of dealers around Boston have both told me that they have ZERO 350s with the Mark Levinson package in there allocation for the next couple of months… The Houston dealer told me he has not seen one with the Levinson package yet..

Do they make them!???? The Boston Dealer also told me that if I had to special order one.. it would run $4k-$6k more!??? Why would it cost more? Its just a matter of them filling out some paper work and look good on there sales sheet.. right? or am I wrong?

This is my first Lexus… Is it always like this?

No, i have the 350 with the nav/ML package and it didn't cost any more. The told me it would take about 2 months to get because i wanted black with black interior and they ended up finding the car after about 2 weeks. So it sounds like the dealer is being lazy. I'm in florida and they ended up finding one in NY and had it moved down here.
