  1. Did the distributor and rotor fix the problem? I have a 94 LS400 that does the same thing. Cruising along at any speed over 50 the engine cuts out for a second intermittently, then returns to speed. This does not happen when I use my cruise control; it keep maintains speed. Only happens when not using cruise control.

    Any ideas?

  2. Will this work for the 98+ model? I tried it, and everything worked up to the last step. I tried probably at least 5 times.

Do I need to keep trying? Or is it a different sequence?

No this is for older models 93-97 we could swap cars though. :)

Question: my shell is cracked on my 94 LS400 remote key (single button). Is it possible to take the transmitter out and replace it in another shell? I am thinking about buying one on ebay.

  3. I called the local Lexas dealer and they will not replace the key as a courtesy (read this in several forums). Instead I need to order a $300 replacement.

I don't know why you'd expect them to replace the key on a 13 year old car as a courtesy...

Check out www.lexus-parts.com they have better deals on keys, and they sell shells for the 98+ all in on key, maybe they do for yours too.

No that was never my expectation - I read this in several forums on this site -

FYI: I already check lexus-parts.com site before. The remote keys are $347 only sold in pairs. All I need is the plastic shell - I will figure out the rest.

    Thanks

  4. All,

My 94 LS400 remote key has a cracked shell, (must be common). I called the local Lexas dealer and they will not replace the key as a courtesy (read this in several forums). Instead I need to order a $300 replacement. THERE MUST BE A WAY TO REPLACE THE SHELL?? It is not feasible to replace the entire key set and ECU-- I scanned ebay for shell replacements and found nothing. Any ideas?
