I am considering buying a 2001-2002 RX300 and am curious if my fellow LOC members would recommend and buy again if you were in the market. I have finally decided to sell my 94 LS400 and am seriously considering the RX; however, would like to hear from the experts!

NOT Without an extended Warrenty. Don't get cought up in the Toyota myth.

I've replaced my starter motor ($500.00), and Both front struts need replacing (noisey as can be in cold weather) (Over $1000.00)

And this car has only 70,000miles.

My ford explorer didn't have a hickup until the exhaust went at 110,000.

Sorry, I'm pretty disapointed in it and would never touch another with out a 100,000 mile full extended warranty.

Just wondering is anyone has had a similar starting problem with the RX. When I attempt to start the car below around 35 degrees the starter simple "Clicks". Battery is new and the charging system is putting out 14 or so volts.

Any guesses if it's the starter and what that would cost? The car only has 70,000 miles..

Hi I'm new to the group, and I'm looking to get information on changing out the front struts on a '99 Lexus RX300 AWD. So far I have found the parts, and I am very mechanically competent, and I know I'll have the right tools. Having said all that I can't find anything online that goes through the procedure so I will know what to expect. The mechanic at the dealership says the strut mounts are "collapsed", and will need to be replaced. All I have been able to find so far is someone saying that it is not that hard and should take no more than three hours. Any help, or suggested reading?

Wondering if our problems are similar. I have a lot of noise coming from my front right strut when both cold and going over small bumps. Are these similar problems to yours?
