I think its time to replace the rotors on my 98 gs300. I saw rotors on ebay that are "drill slot". What is the difference between these and regular rotors? Is there a big difference in price?
I was thinking of just going to AutoZone and purchasing the rotors.
Thanks.
Go with the drilled and slotted... i bought em off ebay 1 year ago and i love em... i think i got a set of 4 for around $460... the drilled and slotted rotors are better for the brake pads...
Yes, go with the drilled slotted. They help displace heat better and are a little easier on the pads. Make sure you get new pads as well. And if you put them on, make sure after you are done installing the rotors, you do not mash on the brakes right after. You have to ease them in. Go about 5 mph and slowly come to a stop, then do it in reverse.

Looking to upgrade my wheels and tires, but don't want to go into blindly. I am looking for the best set up to get a bigger wheel and lower the car, without rub, without sacrificing too much comfort. I was thinking of a set of 18" chrome rims. from what I have read people are having problems with the caliper clearance. Whay should the correct offset be?
A little help.
Thanks

Are they lowering springs, or do they keep the car at original ride height?
Where are you?

Have you installed the aftermarket Navigation yet? If so, how did it go. I have a 1999 and am looking to do the same thing.

I just started having this problem on my 99 GS (yesterday). Did you ever get to the bottom of this problem?
Please let me know.

Go to tirerackdotcom and use their site to put 18"s on your ride and check to see what they recommend for the offset on a pair of 18"s. Then compare that offset to the wheels you are looking at. That should help you figure it out. Be aware of the caliper factor. You will have to fit the wheel up to figure that one out.
