  1. On your order for sirrus, is this the trunk mount or roof mount for the antenna?

I was reading through the owners manual the other day and it says that the satellite radio antenna gets mounted inside the rear window.

As far as the satellite radio not working well with an Ipod, I don't see why it wouldn't work. They both have different inputs on the radio.

  2. Contratulations! I'm thinking about getting breakwater blue. I like it, but my buddy said it looks feminine to him (I'm a guy). How do you and others like the color?

That's what I was thinking before too, but when I actually saw the car, it almost looks like a silver. Then again no one should really mistake your car for a chick car if you're driving a 350. If anything, the 250 would be the chick car of the bunch. I picked it because I thought it was one of the best colors available that you could get the cashmere interior with.

  3. Price wise for service Sirius and XM are pretty much the same. The only reason you would pick one of the other is the programming. If you like Howard Stern and the NFL, go with Sirius. If you like NASCAR and major league baseball, go with XM. I went with XM from a couple of years ago just for the fact that at the time, XM was cheaper and I was getting free equipment from work. Sirius didn't offer anything like this to retail employees.

I heard that the satellite radio equipment from the dealer could cost up to $400-500. That seems a little steep, but I heard this from a pretty unreliable source.

  4. I'm seriously thinking about the breakwater blue because it looked great in a couple of photos I saw and it is not an ordinary color - like the matador red - which I think is fitting for this unique car. But I haven't seen one in breakwater blue yet, even after several visits to the dealer. How do you like it? Have any pictures?

By the way, I was also contemplating whether I could get black floormats for the champagne interior. You're probably not the first to ask.

My old car was black on black so I wanted to have something a little for a change. I guess getting the black floor mats would really depend on the dealer. If that was the deal breaker, I'm sure they would be able to do something to secure the sale. I picked mine up the week after Christmas, and the dealer I went to was so busy, so they probably didn't really care if they made my sale or not.

  5. I just got a IS 350 in Breakwater Blue. It's like a light blue metallic with the tan (cashmere) interior. I could see the tan interior being very hard to maintain, but I'd rather spend a lot of time cleaning and be happy with the color combo than getting something that's easy to maintain but not really happy with. I think the main problem is the color of the floor mats. I asked the salesperson at the dealer if I could switch out the mats for black ones. He said I couldn't, but I may go online and buy custom cut black mats for it. It won't really look out of place, since the top portion of the dash and door panels are black as well.

    Hope that helps.

  6. Mine just has the regular halogen headlights. You would think that when you spend this much money, they would have them as standard. I could care less for the adaptive lights. I never had them, so I wouldn't really be missing anything. I am considering doing a aftermarket retrofit though.

  7. Well, after contemplating whether I should buy a new car or not, I finally jumped in the deep end and took delivery of a 2006 IS 350. It is Breakwater Blue with a cashmere interior. I really wanted a navigation system, but after hearing the standard sound system, I was quite content with it. When the sales person, checked his inventory, he only had one with the optional Mark Levinson upgrade. Well, after his talking to the manager, he managed to throw in the ML sound system, for no extra charge!!

I didn't really get a chance to really open her up yet, but initial impressions are very good. The car has gobs of power and torque. The thing really flies!! The sound system is second to none. This is the first car I've owned with a navigation system, so keeping my eyes off of it and on the road is very difficult. :P

The only option I didn't get were the HID headlights. I've looked at a couple of websites like www.xenondepot.com and they have retrofit kits that should fit this car. If anyone has done this retrofit, I'd like to hear from ya and see how you did it and if it was easy.

Looking forward to learn about everything Lexus from all of you!!
