Hope this helps... Let me know if you can't find the check connector. It should be right on top of / in front of the intake manifold. Just use a piece of copper wire to connect the terminals TE1 and E1... No need for an SST.

When you get the code numbers let me know, I'll tell you what they mean.

Codes 12 and 31 together are normal. A code 12 means there is no RPM signal (duh, the motor isn't turning over during the test) A code 31 means there is no air flow meter signal (the engine is also not taking in any air during the test because it is off)

    Hi there

it may sound simple but try another key

    best of luck

  2. My Lexus dealer replaced my 17 inch rims with 16 inch rims fitted with standard tyres in an attempt to reduce road noise. This attempt was successful

You could have either keep these 16" rims and quiet tires or put these quiet tires on your 17" rims. Why didn't you pursue either of those options?

The Tyres on the vehicle now are

    Dunlop SP Sport FM901

    235/45ZR17 93W

Any other GS owners with dif problems

would like to hear your problems??

  4. The 16s do ride more quietly then the 17s. Tire brands also makes a difference. Lastly, though, the GS is not the quietest in the Lexus line. Noise is very dependent on the individual. What you deem loud may be normal to me or maybe not. It is hard to tell.

Good luck in finding the root of the problem.

    Appreciate the help

I bought this Lexus in September 2004 and have had a number of small problems. Including scratches on the driver and passengers side windows. Both windows Replaced by my Lexus dealer. Rattles in the dash. Rectified by my Lexus dealer. The noises in my Lexus appear to be falling on deaf ears by my Lexus dealer and more disturbing by the national distributor. I really need good advice on this problem.

  5. My GS300 has had this noise problem almost from new it is coming to the stage where it is affecting my driving and health. A serious problem I think you will agree.

The car is fitted with 17 inch rims with low profile tyres.

The noise is heard at different speeds and increasing in intensity as speed increases. Road noise accepted as the explanation. The Amount of road noise in vehicle is not accepted.

A high pitch noise is heard at various speeds. Sounds like a jet engine. The only time I want to hear this type of noise is when I am going on holidays to a warmer climate.

The third noise I have in my luxury car is a heavy breaking sound when the breaks are applied.

My Lexus dealer replaced the break discs and pads in an attempt to resolve the problem. This attempt was a failure

I replaced the tyres on my 17 inch rims with a different make and compound tyre. This also failed to reduce the amount of road noise heard in the vehicle.

The problem I have now is that Lexus is stating that the noise I have in my luxury car is normal. ??????????????? I think not

    Any comments

sorry guys an error in my message

the message 16 inch rims fittes read successful of course it should have read failure

    sorry
