  1. My only disagreement would come from the roominess statement. I feel the front has about the right amount of room, since you are 6' and I am 6'2. That would be right on for you. But as for the back seat. I could not for the life of me fit anyone in the back seat if I were sitting in the front with the seat where it was comfortable for me. Otherwise, great review, and enjoy the car, great styling!
  2. Well guys, decided to stop back in and see what was going on. I orderd the charger 3 weeks ago. Should be in in about another month or so. Black fully loaded SRT 8 with navi and the other bells and whistles. I am happy to see a lot of good topics coming up and that you guys agreed with me on height and this car just not being meant for that. I also was a bit disappointed in the fact that Lexus never even called me back on the deal as my sales person pretty much blew me off at the lexus dealer. Guess that goes to show you I made the right decision. On a brigher note, the sales guy I am buying my charger from is doing a you scratch my back I will scratch yours kinda deal. Extended warranty, lighted doors sill SRT8, SRT8 mats, and cool air intake all at employee pricing. Not bad huh? Anyways, I will post pics when I get her in.
  3. All great points and I really do appreciate the time you put into that. And Lexus sales men are very nice, they are not condescending like a lot of other dealers can be, and you are treated well. However, I have decided on what car I am buying, and you are right about lexus letting me walk out the door. However, the srt-8 charger is not exactly being given away and yes it does not have the amenities the lexus may have. But it also has something the lexus doesn't have. American heritage from the 60's and 70's that when muscle cars were big its nice and comforting to be able to get a little of our past back. The other thing is I am 6'3, and the IS simply is not offering enough room to occupants in the backseat. Plus a lot more leg room in front, and I wanted fold down seats in the back so I can put my bike in the car. All little things, but they add up and ultimately I am happy with this choice and am sure that I will come back to lexus as they are a great company. It just won't be this purchase, thats all. But thanks again, and I will be sure and post some pics of my new ride when I get it if you all are interested.
  4. My build was coming to over 47k with nav, lux, sport pack, adaptive cruise, etc. So it was a bit much and there was no negotiation, and I couldnt get a good interest rate through the dealer. 6.0 was about as good as they were offering and I felt after looking and finding lower rates that the dealer should be better equipped to be competitive on that sort of thing. Plus I have a lot of other stuff going on and spending all my time researching something I don't even own yet was getting tiring.
  5. I appreciate it and I expect there to be costs which is why I am getting the 100k and 7 yr warranty. Also the other thing that I have had a problem with is I am 6'3. Fitting into the lexus is great, but there is NO back seat room which is a real problem if I want to take more than 2 people. I appreciate your feedback and concern. Resale value is not one of the things that I am basing my decision on and I intend to drive this car till the wheels fall off. Hopefully well after 100k!
  6. Well, a fully loaded IS 350 costs about 47,000 or so with g spyder wheels and the works. Now I can get into a fully loaded charger for 42,000 plus they are working me a great trade on my lease. So both of those combined I am going to be about 8,000 ahead after trade and price difference. Plus the charger drives nicely, its fast, has navi and bluetooth, and I can shut off the traction control. I want to drive the car, not the car decide what I am doing. I still like the IS, I just don't think the time is now to purchase a Lexus. Toyota seems a bit to proud right now, and there are plenty of people buying. I hope this is enough info for you to understand what I was saying origionally in my post.
  7. I wondered if anyone else had gotten Lexus dealers to go down any on the car below msrp. I decided that I am tired and have ordered a 425 HP Dodge Charger Hemi in black. Plus with the extra money I can mod the car some. Anyways, Really have enjoyed the forum and all the great feedback you guys have given!
  8. that is rediculous. I am waiting until 2007.
  9. I have talked to the dealer and they said that it would be about the end of september or early october. I want one now but two to three things. One, I want the xm radio fin on the roof and lexus signed a agreement with xm for 2007. Two, the new fog lamp kit with the led's will be available, and three there should also be the exhaust for the car and I also would like some different wheels so this will give me a chance to see what else is out there. And you never are supposed to buy a first year car, even though its a lexus and I am sure that there are not really that many bugs in the first place to have to work out.
  10. No pics or explanations of where in the rear window and if it is visable there. I am assuming it is the 1" terk antenna that is used. Is there much of a interference issue with it in the glass especially if you tint the windows.
  11. Where does the antenna get added in the rear window, any pics or sites to look at on this?
  12. Best info I have is that it won't be available till summer. I just ordered mine last weekend with Sirius and I had an option of either XM or Sirius and I will have to car the last few weeks or April at the latest On your order for sirrus, is this the trunk mount or roof mount for the antenna?
  13. Very good, I appreciate all the feedback. The only other thing that I have read is will the car with navi be able to play xm and also have functionality with the ipod. I know it may sound weird, but I had read something about them not working to well together. Anyone know anything about that?
  14. Now I know its a option, but is this the fin that is on the roof of is this the trunk mount option that you can get at any car dealer. Also, how much extra did this run you to get the xm radio? or sirrius for that matter. I have heard xm radio, but I dont know why I would choose to go xm or sirius, any suggestions to one or the other?
