    So I got a $2000+ sound system for my 1996 lexus LS400

I got Pioneer headunit, Kicker 4-channel amp, Kicker subwoofer amp, 2 12" Kicker subwoofers, Polk speakers

got it installed, everything sounds great, but the installers are stumped to the engine noise.. there is a whine, squeek, high pitch sound that increases with RPMs on my car.. today was the 3rd day its been in since they started installing..

does anyone have any idea? The only idea the techs at circuit city are suggesting is using headunit to power speakers instead of 4-channel amp, but I would much rather keep current setup if only we could fix problem some how..

they have tried tons of things, grounding wires, rewiring and moving power and audio wires.. still get the noise..

    any ideas?

  3. Were there any headunit changes (for the CD/tape player) from the 1996 to the 1998 version

I am getting a headunit (to power my subs and Sirius) and they had to special order a dash kit because the closest they had IN-STOCK was a 1998.. It looked fine to me and the audio guy, but my dad said special order just to be sure..

Were we right in waiting, rather than taking out the old and then seeing if it would truely fit

  4. My friend has a Mustang, so we go this place around us called Modular Powerhouse, they modify mustangs, they have 800+hp mustangs ON THE LOT, that sound cool. Tried to find a similiar place for Lexus's, but obviously Lexus does not have the "performance community" that Mustangs do.

    Here are my questions

    1) Whereabouts can I find people that will modify my car that are reputable

    2) What exactly can I do

    3) How much will it empty my wallet

    I am driving a 1996 Lexus LS400 with ~140k miles on it

Biggest performance enhancement right now, flipping the PWR/ETC Switch.

    Thanks in advance.

~ Also, what about sound systems, like subwoofers and stuff, easy to be done by like Circuit City?
