  1. With a Samsung phone through Verizon, I had to send the entire contact list to the 2006 GS300 nav/phone system.

You need to access the phone's contact list and send the "card" info for each of the contacts to the car when the nav system is waiting for the phone book.

Other's were only successful sending one contact at a time. Go figure.

Thanks so much. You know my does not have the navigator in it, which could be one reason it's not cooperating as well as yours. How do you send the "card" info from the phone? I looked and looked and didn't see anything on that either.

    Thanks again,

    Doreen

  3. I had no trouble transferring my phone book from my Verizon Blackberry Pearl. Unfortunately it only transferred mobile phone numbers. Can anyone help me to edit the phone numbers? I also would like to know how to enter a phone number without dialing out first.

I have tried using the phone several times, it is paired, but I hear nothing at all. I've tried it both with mute ON and mute OFF. This is so very frustrating!! Thanks.

Can somebody please help me. I have a 06 GS and went and purchased a BT phone through Verizon (was already in contract with them) and got the Samsung Gleam. Checked the lexusletstalk.com website, and this was compartible. The phone's hooked up and works, except I can't even figure how to manually enter a numbe in the phone book. I get the piece where the menu says transfer phone book, but it wants me to do something from the phone that Verizon or I can't figure out. At least, just telling me how to manuually enter a number is the phone book would be so greatly appreciated.

To anyone who can help, thanks so much!!

  4. Hey PDXTXN, you might want to look at that....sounds like a deal ;)

I just bought mine - a 99, also Gold with Ivory, with 43K and paid about 27.5K

In person, it's a beautiful color and hot looking car. Haven't seen too many of that color around. Around here, the diamond white color is overpopulating!

  5. Auctions sound like one way to go. Good Advise.

You're right about Oregon not having the car. If you go to Lexus.com and do a vehicle search for that car, Oregon comes up with nothing. Go to California, and there's 35 of them. Unlike the auction, you'd know right what's in front of you , miles, color, condition, etc. Again, might be worth looking at. It would cost you less than 300.00 for a one-way ticket, and you'd have a nice new car to drive - not too far - back.

    Good Luck!

  6. You're right, the GS's are harder to come by. I hunted and searched for a good long time to get just the right one, and I just bought it a month ago.

My suggestion: It might be worth your while to look around the northern end of California (i.e. Steven's Creek Lexus, Lexus of Serramonte, Lexus of Monterey Peninsula, Putnum Lexus, etc.) If you find the right price and the right car that you are looking for, it may be worth your while to fly over, purchase it, and drive it back. Or, see if the dealerships will send it.

;) Congratulations on the new one to come (baby & Car).

  7. <_< at first wasn't too sure. But you know, the more I look at it the more I think I like it. It could just be the picture, but it does look like it might be a little more sleeker and less "heavier" looking and feeling than the past GS's! :D No proof! Just a women's quick intuition.

    Thanks for the peek!

  8. Wow! Thanks so much! For the most part, I think I got it. The blue lights only come through as blue when the headlights are in the full "on" position. I'll keep all of the names, sizes, and numbers you gave me, so slowing but surely I can make my own clone of your classic GS :D - only kidding! Were thousands of miles apart so no one would ever know  but not to far from home away from home for me - Providence Rhode Island.

Thanks again and take care. I love reading your stuff.....so much knowledge that's helpful to others, especially us Lexus Women

  9. Hi,

I noticed on a few of your pics the daytime running lights look blue. Is that how they really look at night? What about day? Also, where can I get those lights. Any particular size ? Sorry to sound so dingy, but I'm just learning about mods and the after-market. I'm a girl whose had Lexus do everything in the past.

    Thanks

  10. ;) You are awesome! Thanks for taking the time to help. The car's going in Friday and is still under warranty. I will definately run this by them. They said something about the transmission needing to be re-calibrated.

After it's get back I'll share the diagnosis with you, as you seem willing to help others.

    Take care and thanks again!

  11. Can anyone lend me some suggestions, I'm a new owner of a 99 GS300.

Problem: I've noticed a few times that when I'm driving I feel the car choke or pull back just a bit and than go back to normal. Plus, when I come to a complete stop right after I felt this, the car choked a little and acted as if it might stall. It's very minor and has just started, but I am concered. Could it be something like a fuel injection issues?

    Please help! :(

  12. ;) Dont' panic. I just sold my 96ES300 a few weeks ago and when I had it I had the same thing happen. Typically, it's nothing to do with a mechanical defect in the car, and more to do with more minor problems setting it off. As a matter of fact the light came on right after my car was serviced with Lexus. Although it took them 2 trys to get the light off they did resolve the problem quickly. My issue had something to do with a charcoal cannister. Anyway, here's my recommendation. Take it to a Lexus dealer. You'll pay a bit more but my experience through the years has been that they can resolve the problem quicker as they know their cars best. Plus, if they don't, and the light comes back on, they will take care of you to your satisfaction until it's resolved. As least that's been my experience. Good Luck and enjoy that car!

  13. Hi, I'm a new user. Just had my 99 gs 300 for 3 weeks. Had an ES300 for last 5 years....best car I've ever had.

Question: The GS sounds to me like the engine is noiser. What I'm having a hard time getting used to is the way the engine feels like it revs a bit when go from 0 - 40 MPH. I never felt or heard that in my ES model. Can anyone let me know if this is more normal for the GS or if they notice it with their car. I'm hoping I won't have a potential problem down the line.

    Thanks!
