  1. I know this is a 2 year old topic, but after some searching, I haven't found much. I just ordered the part for the top motor mount - just the rubber grommet thing, not the torque bar (dog bone thing). However, what I received is much larger than will fit in the torque bar. The invoice says 1997 Lexus ES300 upper motor mount, and the part is about 3" diameter. The existing dog bone hole is only around 2.5". I'm wondering which part is incorrect. This car has a rebuilt title, so it is very possible that the torque bar is wrong. Does anyone have measurements and possibly a picture I can reference?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. I wanna know, cuz these fricking gas prices are insane. $2.80 - $3.05 a gallon. Not to sound like my grandparents but I remember back in 1999 I could get a gal of gas for 75 cents. ah the good old days. Still keeping my es300 but a MOPED with the lexus emblem on the front sounds mighty nice right now.

Where do you live? I haven't seen prices under $115 since 1993 and would be happy with anything under $2 at this point. However, like most, I will drive my car and ..., in the infamous words of Jim Carrey, "bend over and take it up the tailpipe!".

  3. Hi,

I have a 99 es300 with 95000 miles and cannot decide if I should do a transmission flush. I am not sure if one has been done before, although i do know that the 60,000 mile service has been done- but not sure if that includes a transmission flush. The transmission fluid itself is not dark, but is a muddy brown type color. So should I go ahead and do a flush?

    thanks

Do the flush, it is fairly inexpensive and the peace of mind is well worth it.

  4. ! have a 96 es300 with 96,000 on it .I have some of the more common problems i've  seen on other posts. they are helpful for ths new guy . but i have this loud wind noise coming from the side windows. is there a trick or easy fix with the seals . they seem fine. no cuts or wear that i can see. does any one have an idea?

I have read that closing the doors by pushing on the windows instead of the door will cause this. The windows should be re-aligned. You could probably do it yourself depending on how into that you are.
