  1. Attached, below, is a link to the redesigned RX for 2010, as a concept car, displayed at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. The name for the new RX is the Lexus LF-Xh. Once you click on the link scroll down a page and you will see a YouTube video on the vehicle. In addition, there are other links on the page which will give you actual photos. I, for one, love the redesign, save for the front, which I think is bulky and doesn't fit, and the interior, which is a little stodgy and somewhat radical. Reading the commentary from Car magazine, it appears that the Lexus people are not happy with the interior. I concur. Plus, the steering wheel is rather large and appears to be difficult to grasp for women and some men. However, overall I like the redesign and hopefully this will be the new Rex for 2010, which will go on sale in the spring of '09 "with" some changes.

Per the attached below link, more photos. Very nice exterior:

If that is what the interior is going to look like you can count me OUT!!! I prefer the luxury look not the space age look.

  2. I have read a lot of people who are not happy with the way Lexus has there navigation system set up and I was wondering if Toyota does the same thing? "THE VENZA FOR EXAMPLE " I also wanted to know if the same 4 wheel drive will be in the Venza or the 2010 RX ? " WHICH MOST DO NOT LIKE"I am trying to decide if it worth waiting for the 2010 or just buy the 2009 Venza which I like what I see thus far but I have no idea if these issue will be fixed in the RX or if I will even like the look of the RX. What do you all think?

  3. Well, I called Tire Rack and ordered some 16" wheels with Michelin X-Ice tires for them. You see, the issue for me is really one of cost and practicality.

I don't expect to be "racing" my car in the winter, so getting the high performance winter tires which cost in the $200 - $250 each range is more than I want to do. Secondly, there are few manufacturers that have the split sizes that Lexus recommends for the front and rear of the car.

I did get the split sizes on the 16" wheels, and I don't think that it is going to make that much difference in the driveability of the car. It's going to be the look of the car that you guys are going to hassle me about.

Plus, going through tires every 20 - 25K is not going to make my wallet happy. :cries:

    larry

So it's ok to put a smaller wheel and tire on the IS350? What size tires is best to put on them?

  4. Agreed. I paid about $800 for 4 Bridgestones (Seattle area), and that included all the nickel/dime stuff. My wife loves them - great wet/dry traction.

Best thing to do as someone already mentioned is click in to tirerack.com and punch in your information (size whatever you want) then click on tires and punch compare then you get a side by side on all the tires and you deleat them one by one. It is very simple it just takes a little time and I order all my tires on line and bring them locally to have them put on.

discounttires.com great place also ""free shipping""

  6. A clay bar is supposed to clean all debris off of a finish - even water spots. When I tried it for the first time it was an incredible improvement. The surface turned out as smooth as a baby's butt.

Try a Zaino clay bar. Based on input from several forums, they are the best.

    thanks...i think ill try that.

Clay bar is a good idea then you can get a polish perhaps locally by say meguires and hand polish those spots out also if the clay doesnt get them out . I though maybe they were all over the car then doing by hand would be work but you could do it.

  7. Might want to check in over at the detailing section of the forum with this.

Your vehicle will need to be polished to clean up your water spots. Check your area for a true detailer not just someone who waxes cars they can fix your spots in no time. If you were neer me I would tell you to run it over.

  8. It's been exactly a month since I got my new IS250 and happened to curb one of the rims today :cries: There are few noticeable scratches on the wheel and it is driving me nuts. Is it possible to get it fixed? I live in the northside suburbs of Chicago and I would appreciate it if someone could suggest a good repair shop.

I am not sure where or the cost to repair the rim but in my opinion I would just watch on ebay and purchase another rim . $100.00 I am guessing for a new one as to $$$ to fix it? hope that helps

  9. Do es350 rims fit on a '98 es300? what size tires do you recommend? this es300 is in Florida-where everything is flat. i would like a comfy ride, but don't know what size or tires to put on these rims if i pick them up.

    thanks!

g[/quoteTough to say until we learn the size of the rims. I would stick above 245's for a decent ride though myself.

    And yes they will fit..

  10. The Lynnwood dealership offered me $2000 over invoice before any negotiation. Went to the Bellevue dealership and they offered me $1300 over invoice. What should be a good price for a new 2008 model?

Also, anyone seen the new Brandy Wine (Red) color (the real car) yet? How does it look?

so has anyone bought or seen this brandy wine mica I would also like to hear what people think..

  11. Hi Folks -

Anyone familiar with the WAAG side step bar? I saw one for '07 on their site, but the rep stated they didn't have one for '08. I was under the impression that it would fit. I like the way the WAAG bar looks.

Any other recommendations? I went to Jaos, but didn't see anything for '08 RX.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

I would like to see this item do you have a pic. to post?

  12. I have searched thinking this has been discussed but I found nothing so I thought I would ask. What are people doing in the winter months for tire choices please? I was thinking of buying a winter set of rims staying with 17" and perhaps going with 225/45's all the way around will this be ok or will I need to stay with the 245/ 45's on the rear?

Any opinions on the best winter tires please do tell.. thanks for your time

  13. I just recieved the best attention when ordering my LEXUS parts and wanted to share it with all of you.

I needed ignition wires ,plugs, gaskets for valve covers, fuel filters, and few other small items.

So I called drivewire since I had them listed on my notes as best prices and genuine replacement parts.

I called their number 7 times and after about a 10 min. wait each time the line hangs up on you.I was very ticked and sent an email ,the next morning I got an email back asking what was my question, Nothing about how nobody ever picked the phone and no answer to my questions either.

So I chose a different retailer,AUTOPARTSWHAREHOUSE.COM.this place was great they met any of drivewires prices and even beat many of them. They also have free shipping on orders over $50.00. The guy that really knows his stuff is DAVID EXT.316 make sure you get him he is a great help. just wanted to pass this on it is really worth doing it right the first time.

  14. OEM Toyota/Lexus plug wires atleast. Or higher quality. I.E. Vitek <cough $250 Magnacore cough> It's *extremely* rare that you need plug wires on these engines. Just don't use cheap wires if you need to replace them.

I recommend NGK 5553's for plugs.

The upper intake manifold gakset it multi-layer steel. It shouldn't need replacing. You *might* break some of the paper seals for things like EGR / throttlebody / IAC / ACIS if you clean them while you have those off. I'd pick up a tube of Ultra RTV <whatever color you want> just incase you break some. You'll need it to put on the valve cover gasket around the cam bearing caps too - so you might aswell get a tube for $5-6.

Ofcorse you need the valve cover gaskets. The front one is nothing more than pull the plug wires / coils & unbolt it. So you might as well do that too.

I think I've solved the valve cover issue perminantly by using RTV (See that post). Obviously I won't know for a long time, but I am very hopeful. You have to have all day to piddle with that tho, so it's definately not for everyone!

So... All you *actually* need is the valve cover gasket & a bottle of RTV.

Change the front & rear o2 sensors. You'll never have an easier time doing the rear sensor than right now!!! & clean the intake while it's off!

thankyou very much for your reply TOYS,what about ignition wires such as ngk or some other one offered from drivewire.com for 42-46.00 bucks? Are these good enough or should I just keep the ones I have? I am having no problems what so ever I just have no history on the car and thought to replace what I could to give me a starting point you know?I appreciate your advice as I want to get the correct parts needed.

EDIT"which 02 sensors do I need?"before cat, or after cat?

  15. I have a 96 ES300 with 100,000 miles .I purchased the car last summer and just had all fluids flushed and replaced since I had no history on the car. I have an oil leak and my mechanic told me to order everything to replace a vaulve cover gasket as I am ordering everything from drivewire. I just was wondering what EVERYTHING includes? can anybody tell me. DRIVEWIRE is closed for the day and I just was wondering.

Also what plugs and wires would you go with? I am unsure on this also.. thanks
