  1. From Verizon though?

The issue lies in the disabling of the Bluetooth file trabsfer protocols. Unfortunately the best you can do is get it to mute the radio when a call comes in.

thanks..thats what I figured..I was just wondering if there is some genius tech person out there that can beat that disabling issue that verizon is making us suffer with

  2. Does anyone own the new LG VX8100 phone with Bluetooth? I had a Motorola E815 that my wife was using. She was having problems with the phone in general, so we traded it for the LG. We were new to Verizon, so we had a trial period and were able to trade without cost.

Since we are still waiting for our Lexus RX 400h to arrive and haven’t had the chance to try the new LG phone on the car system; does anyone own this phone? How does it pair with the car? I know the carrier Verizon has disabled the OBEX feature………so I know the phone book will not transfer from this phone because that part was crippled. I would hope the rest of the stuff will work, like calling and answering and hang up, etc. Any information will be helpful and appreciated!

I had the LG and I just traded it for the motorola E815..with the LG you wont be able to see the signal strength bars in the car and your radio volume wont lower when a call comes in..you wont have this problem with the motorola..if you want to download the phonebook you have to either borrow a friends phone with a different carrier and download your book from there or you can go to a local cellular auto place and they will probably do it for you for a small fee

  3. I have a 2005 RX330 and my cell phone is a Motorola T720 with a Motorola DC600 Bluetooth Adapter.  The Motorola unit connects with the system in the car but the signal strength bars on the phone do not appear on the car screen and the system in the car will not dial or perform other functions even though both units confirm that they are connected to each other.  Am I doing something wrong or are these devices just not compatible?  Does anyone know if there are compatible phones other than the Sony Ericsson T608 listed on the Lexus LetsTalk.com website?

    Thanks.

motorola recently sent software upgrades to the carriers that allow you to see the reception bars in the car as well as turn the radio volume down when a call comes in..You should take your phone to your carrier to perform the upgrade or upgrade the phone to the new model..I have the newest model motorola with verizon..I cant figure out how to make the car ring when a call comes in..the volume lowers but I have to listen for the ring on the phone, not in the car...I have every other problem figured out with the phone except for this..Does anybody know how to solve this problem? Thank You

  4. New '06 GS300 AWD w/bluetooth not totally compatible with my Motorola V710 blue tooth phone. Won't D/L address book, etc. Cell provider is Verizon. Anybody offer any help on this? Thanks!

    Ed:

There currently is no workaround to this issue. I have spoken with Lexus engineers and they have confirmed they are working on a solution with Denso, the OEM manufacturer of the Nav/BT system. The rep. did say there would no solution for the '06 model year but would likely be adddressed in the '07 models. When I inquired as to whether a firmware upgrade would be made available for our systems ho said he had no info. as to whether that would be possible. The other issue you will likely encounter with the V710 or E815 (I own both) is that there will be no audible ringer in the car . . only the handset itself will ring. Congrats on the new car . . .

The phonebook problem is not with LEXUS, it is with Verizon. Verizon blocks the OBX option on the Bluetooth Phone. This option allows you send contacts/files via bluetooth. (They claim the reason is because they are not pleased with the performance - the true reason, is because they don't want you to send pictures via bluetooth for free...they want you to use the VZ Picture Mail and charge you)

The only "workaround" is what I did - buy a cheap phone on ebay and use that to import.

As for the ringer, it is annoying that it doesn't ring - especially since I keep my phone on vibrate. If you keep the radio on, it's okay though as it mutes the radio and you know you have a call.

the only way right now to download ur phonebook is to borrow a blue tooth phone from somebody , not with verizon or sprint.. enter your phonebook list, sinc it with the car and then connect back to your phone..the phonebook will be entered and you can use it...if your phone #s change the car list wont change
