  1. I don't feel like spending $150 for the 10K oil change, even with tire rotation and a cookie... I trust my Firestone neighborhood shop, but Firestone can do it for models earlier than 2006, but not mine.

I've seen the procedure for other model years (odometer on, engine off, press key, turn on, hold for 7 seconds, etc.), but it doesn't seem to work for the 2006. The procedure, according to the manual, works for the OIL MAINT RESET warning, but this requires to reset the OIL MAINT RQD first, and that procedure is not listed.

    Can someone help?

    Thanks,

    George

  2. OK, I'm new to run flats, and also my GS300, so here's my question.  Does the information display tell you WHICH tire is low, or just that there's a fault and you need to go out and inspect all four tires?  Thanks for your reply.

All it will tell you is that one of the tires is experiencing low pressure so you'll have to go out and look.

  3. So ironic, i just got my 2006 GS and was talking to my friend whose got a 530 BMW and I was making fun of the run flat tires he has, it turns out that my car has the same tires :whistles:

...well am not bothered, but i do have a quesiton, if the tire hits a nail, and is puncutred, whats the max speed i could run on it without harming it and can it be fixed in the same way i use to fix my regular tires (place a glued ribber in the hole, pump and ride)?

At least i have a spare tire  :D my friend doesn't so my ods are 20% his are 25% to having to change a tire if anythings goes kaboooom

You can drive up to 55mph for 100 miles before having to replace the tires. As for repair, I'm not sure but you may have to get a new tire.

  4. Thanks for clarifying, 06gs430. There's actually a "nav kit" which will allow you to override the navi which is selling for $99. It's also removable as well, and bypasses the "I Agree" disclaimer. Although this is for the Prius navi system, it should work on the GS as well since it's the same unit. I'm not 100% sure, but here's the link in case anyone is interested.

  5. Which dealer?

I have a great saleswoman in Annapolis I can refer you to who might be more interested in helping you. That salesman is probably hoping you'll spring for a GS430. I've sent a couple LOC members her way.

Do they lower the car? No.

Thanks for letting me know, but the dealer I was referring to is Rallye Lexus of NY. Is there anywhere else that I can get the GS430 wheels from for a reasonable price?

  6. Just wondering, when going from the stock 17" wheels to any of the optional factory 18" wheels, does the dealer lower the car? I'm planning to get the GS300 AWD and would like the dealer to swap the stock 17's for the GS430 5-spoke 18's but the one dealer I contacted about this said it would cost an estimated $3k-$4k to do that! That's just ridiculous. I might as well just get them on lexus-parts.com.

So does the dealer lower the car when going from 17's to 18's?
