  1. I just got my car back from the body shop about three days ago. I don’t really know if they replace the gas tank or anything, but now when I fill up my tank the pump don’t fill up by itself anymore. I stop fueling like the tank is full but it not. It wasn’t even at $10 bucks yet and I have to keep on pressing and clicking the nozzle until it get full which really took at long time. Does anyone know how to fix this or should I take it back to the repair shop.

    it an lexus rx 1999

    thanks

  2. Try disconnect the battery for 5 mins. Let us know how it goes.

how do you reset your alarm. i found out i had a weak and dead battery. i went to sears and replace it but im still getting the alarm going off after i take the key out of the ignition.

  3. what you should of done is have them change both sensor when he has everthing apart. i know it cost a little extra but it keep you from doing the same service twice. I had this problem before also which did cause the hight reving. im soo glad i got it fix.

  4. After my brother left the interior dom light and drain the battery, the alarm been acting up lately. Most of the time now when I take out the key before arming the alarm system, the system goes off for no reason. I like to know why it doing this and if there was a why I can reset it some how or fix it.

    thanks

  5. Hi,

I have a 99 Rx with 75k on it and now i would like to change my transmission oil myself. Is the any way i can get detailed instrustions on how to do so and how many of the toyota transmission oil quarts do i need?

also what type of motor oil does it take? 5w30 right?

  6. Suggest you consider doing your own detail from the very beginning. I use Zaino products (www.Zainostore.com). Their new Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleanser Swirl Remover followed by an application of Z-2 PRO plus ZFX, then their Z-8 Grand Finale Spray Seal should do the job. (I use them on a black Excalibur, Red Reatta, and Silver LS430). I'd also suggest using their carwash exclusively. I am also an Autopian; you might check the product reviews of all the products (not only Zaino's) on their site www.autopia.org  I'm obviously one of those Zaino Zealots. Not only do Zaino products work great, but most of them smell great tempting you to add rum and sip them. Their leather conditioner (Z-10 Leather In A Bottle) makes the leather look and smell great. Many of us leave the applicator in the car to keep the scent around longer.

The Zaino website tells you step by step exactly how to do the detailing, and you've time to order and detail before it gets cold again. BTW, I was cued to Zaino from the Reatta discussion group several years ago. I am asked frequently how I like my new car (the 91 Reatta convertible with 93k on her) when she's freshly cleaned up (original paint).

if you want to learn about detailing your own car go here http://www.detailcity.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=62

to remove swirl you need a PC7424(porter cable) and some swirl removal. i use poorboys line it cheap and works great.

  7. your interest would be what you stated at 5.74%

but if you were wondering your monthly payments, it would be $499.52 unless i punched in something wrong, lol

how did you get that number, what formula did you use.

i know there are calculator on those auto site but i want to be able to do it with my regular calculator.

    thanks

  8. Clean you maf and you should be fine for not getting the CEL on.

A very simple 10 minute fix.

i know the MAF sensor does not cost much to replace and even not that hard to clean from some of the post in this forum, but fact is that they sold me a bad car to start with and the whole first month i had the car, it was in the shop for repairs. Now how can they take there time to fix some parts and when the warranty is over, not fix the rest of the problems? that just not good business and just not right.

    thanks

  9. i bought my rx from a small dealership in california and the car has been in and out of the shop for about a month due to some check engine light and knock sensor problem. now that i need to replace the MAF sensor on the car, the dealer ship wont replace it for me and they said cuz it out of warranty, (cuz it been over a month). can someone tell me who and where do i file a complaint about the the dealership cuz the warranty should not have been over if the car has problems for the whole time it got it.

    this is in california.

someone tell me to call the state board? dont know if that true tho or if they do exist.

    thanks

  10. lexus told me i got a bad MAF sensor that why the check engine light is on. i was wondering how much it cost to replace and if i can do it myself. lexus wanted $255 for part and labor.

see i figure if lexus only charge $255 then maybe the actual part and labor would be cheap and easy to do, maybe around 25 bucks. =) cuz you know them and there over price services.

    thanks
