  1. Hi my name is Laura and I'm a lexiholic! :chairshot: lol!

No really I'm Laura, I'm 25 and I live in Southern Cali, but I was born and raised in New England, woot woot! I drive an 02 IS 300, my husband drives a 2005 Nissan Titan. Still concidering getting a lease on a 330i though. In addition to the vehicles we have a few off road toys, I have a 2004 honda EX 400, and my husband owns two Honda 450's.

ummm. oh yeah and I'm the office manager and project coordinator for an architectural firm in Temecula. :D

  2. I MIGHT be selling mine... but I won't know for another month or so. its an 02 with currently 40,500 miles on it. It's a cali0fornia car, so no rust! We also just put new tires on it two weeks ago. I'll let you know if we decide to sell it.

  3. Dealer called me last night - XM available for IS250/350 3rd week of February, Sirius available in April. No mention of where the antenna is (I know at least its not the ugly trunk mount).

I got sirius for christmas and hubby did the install. If the end up charging a lot from the factory you can always buy it yourself and install it later. It's not hard to install. Here are some pics.

  4. I want to tint my windows a lite shade of mirror-like tint. My IS is silver so I think it'll look better than the dark tint. I know it's illegal but I still want to do it...just very lightly. Does anyone knows how to do it or knows anyone who does?

As far as I know mirror tint isn't illegal... but I'm kind of new to Cali. so I could be wrong. Any place that does tint can hook you up, just start calling around.

  5. I've had Momo knobs on a couple of my previous cars and loved them.  I should have an IS fairly soon and if it has the chrome knob, that will be gone before I get home.  I'm guessing that being in the Palm Springs area where it is 110+ is not going to be a great combination with a metal shift knob.  :)  I'm thinking something like this our their Race Air style.

You have no idea how much I dislike my shift knob. I live in Hemet, and it can get pretty "warm" there as well. Going to throw the car in Drive and having your hand scortched off sucks! :pirate: lol!

  6. Yeah, but those "long term" JD Power owner surveys are about just 3 year old vehicles - not hardly "long term"!  Consumer Reports magazine owner surveys, on the other hand, provide reliability information on 6-8 year old cars.  Toyota and the other Asian makes really pull ahead of the American cars in reliability after 6-8 years.  In other words, although a Buick may match a Toyota in reliability during the first 3 years of ownership, by 6-8 years the Buick is troublesome just like all other American cars whereas alot of Asian makes like Toyota are doing great.

On the other hand, does the average person really keep a car for 8 years? Now a days - not likely.

  7. I don't think you've gotten a lemon. I would highly recomend using a touchless car wash. Or even better, avoid all car washes, and wash it yourself by hand. Everytime I have ever gone through a traditional car wash, it has either been scratched or damaged. The touchless ones are nice but, they don't get your car as clean.

  8.

    Hello Hello!

I am a new member and I recently purchased a 2002 blue IS300. I am a huge car enthusiast! Previous to my lexus I have owned: 2004 Silver Dodge SRT-4, 2003 solar yellow Dodge SRT-4, 2001 silver Merc. Cougar, 1999 Ford Ranger, and last but not least: a 1987 Jeep Comanche! oh ya!

Can't wait to check out and see what modifications other IS owners have done!
