  1. Yeah im actually gonna have to say that ur car does look very good with the 20's on the back and 19's on the front. It was just from my experience ive seen a lot of guys have to roll fenders because of the width of the tire.

thanks LexusLuthor.. I think any rim above 18" x9 with an offset of +35 or lower will demand sometype of fender modifications.( for the rear) 18's look good too, but to get the look I like I would have to almost put the car on the ground. That is not a good look for Baltimore streets.

  2. ummm lol the fact that you have to roll the fenders for compensate for the width of the tire? I dont think we are talking about the same thing. I was talking about a fender rolling kit. what kind of kit are you talking about? I think i was confused at the fact that you said you have to "modify the fenders to achieve this look" meaning, because the tires rubbed, you had to roll the fenders. I just couldnt think of any other reason why you would want to roll ur fenders other than if you wanted to put a wider tire on. thats why i said what i said.

go here - http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=290699 Am i mistaken or does it say that "rear: rim size 19x9.5; offset +36; tire size 275/25/19; needed fenders rolled"

I guess it would depend on ur tire size right? And that was my next question for you...

<no popcorn needed> its not my fault i cant decipher what ur trying to say. be a little more clear next time.

its cool, I have never heard of a fender rolling kit; just a fender roller, my tires aren't that wide. I am running a 255/35/20 on a 20x10 +37 rim. The main reason I rolled the fenders because of my weight. lol It was a mild roll. 20's look great on these cars here is a rear view of my car.post-18373-1199883150_thumb.jpg

  3. it may come down to difference of opinion but in the end, ur tires still rub without the kit.

wow, you are telling me MY tires rub without a kit? I just wanted a kit for appearance reasons only. lol ,what does a kit do to prevent rubbing? << got my popcorn for this one>>

  4. please dont do 20's it looks fricken stupid

I don't think so...this is a 97 SC with 20's. This is not my car.

    post-18373-1199276203_thumb.jpg

I have 19's on the front and 20x10 +37 in the rear, and I have no issues of rubbing. You have to moddify the fenders to achieve this look. I will admit I need a kit and I am working on that now...

  5. dam i can get a hold of some 94 ls calipers ,, so they are not a upgrade ,,what i need are the 95+

dam i dont want to buy rims also lol

i guess i will stick with the stockers for now

man you are in TX... you could probably find some Supra rims for about $500.(supraforums.com) You could get 95+LS calipers and rotor for under $300. Great upgrade they will throw you through the windshield. A must for future HP mods...

  6. That's funny, I tried to fit the front caliphers from my SC on my 94 LS. It didn't look like a direct fit one was bigger than the other.

    Caspergsx:

I need to get rid of the front and rear brakes (minus the dust shields) from my SC. I believe they should be an exact fit. I can sell you the bunch relatively cheap if you're still interested.

    Email @ ucf3loc@netscape.net

That is just it. The direct swap is the 95+ LS calipers, and yes the caliper is larger. With this swap you need to change your rims. SC factory rims do not clear those calipers. A good fix most guys run are the Supra TT rims.

  7. the LS calipers fit no prob!

I did not know supra brakes would fit my car. Is this true? What other swaps are possible for my 1990 LS 400. I do think an upgrade would be nice while I am going through the trouble of doing the front suspension this winter.

    LS400 95+ brakes is a good upgrade....

  8. does anyone know if i can swap brake calipers and rotors from a ls 400 , need to know , i know ls400 owners swap tt supra brakes , and we can swap tt brakes ,, but i can get the ls400 stuff for next to nothing

plenty SC owners have done this. I swapped my stocks out for some Supra TT calipers... be careful once they are on.. they will throw you threw the windshield

  9. I have a 1993 lexus sc400 with gold package_allso called the beast by my frends, ok back to the car,

the problem I'am having is when i put power steering fluid in it the power steering fluid leeks out on the

ground, but most power steering problems do that... but the crazy thing i don't understand is that, white

like smoke is comming from out the exhaust at the rear dual pipes, i think it has somthing to do

with the power steering fluid i just put in it becouse when the power steering fluid has all leaked out

there is no more white like smoke comming from my dual exhaust pipes so i have to drive with out

power steering and fluid until i can get the right fix for it, so can you all help me please???!?..thanks

your power steering set up has nothing to do with the exhaust smoke....you need to fix that leak.. I had the same problem during the month of Jan... sent you a PM

  10. The only replacement LCD is for the LS400. The last I checked, no one has done a replacement for the SC400. I purchased a used Climate Control Unit on ebay and then changed the LCD out. There were many more LS400's sold than SC400's. I knoe Intellexual did not sell screens for the SC, only the LS.

    Good Luck!

I just purchased a used climate control unit for my 92 SC400 and am looking for installation instructions.

Had a sight bookmarked with great instructions but cannot find it anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Would rather not butcher my interior.

    Phil

maybe a great group buy item....

  11. Supra coilovers will fit, but as far as premium coilovers go, I would say the best are the tein flex's, that is what I am putting a set on my sc400, they're are just so expensive though!   Flex's are middle of the road, and are not too soft or hard and can be adjusted, that is my choice.  Basic's will work too but are not as good. What are you looking for in the coilovers?  All out handling performance, or soft dampening to help with traction and eliminate wheel hop and enjoy the soft ride? It all depends on what your needs are as to which coilovers to get.

thanks for the reply! im looking to build a daily drivin street car, without spening a million dollars. lol. Tein basics/superstreets are within my price range, it seems ss's are better becuase they are adjustable and are edfc capable.I want a nice look along with better handling.

sounds like a great group buy... TEIN....FLEX.... I want some.

  12. so you are at VA Tech? Your key is going to be $80. The dealership can cut it. For that $80 you are not going to get the key that has the remote to it. just an valet key. The key with the remote is about $300. email me at bigmalik00@yahoo.com for the other parts.
