  1. Thanks for taking the time to post this hands on test. Very good info.
  2. No problem. Glad to help and welcome to the forum.
  3. Click on the 3 dots upper right then click edit.
  4. This in NOT a Lexus specific issue. Many hybrids have it. The pure EVs don't because they are plugged in twice a day anyhow or they don't work at all. If you keep falling for the Greenwash marketing nonsense you will continue to get ever less usable cars. 0W16 oil to gain .1 mpg, transmissions that run at 190 F for better mileage and on it goes. None of this stuff is making cars more reliable or less of a pain to own.
  5. If you are running with no 02 sensors it will never run right unless you get a professional tune written and installed. Without the sensor it is likely going to run far too lean when hot. Are your plugs showing signs of a lean condition. Also, use only OEM sensors, after markets cause a LOT of problems. If it was me, I would have had the muffler shop weld in O2 sensor bungs and hook them back up when they were deleting the Cat. At this stage I still suggest it is prudent to first run a live stream diagnostics to make sure that is the actual issue.
  6. Did you change the O2 semsors when you were doing this. If you have then you need to hook up a live feed scan tool and record what is happening when it bogs. You haven't even bothered to post the actual error codes nor have you said if you have bothered to follow the diagnostic stream in the service manual for each error code. Trying to diagnose with the tiny amount of info you have provided is impossible.
  7. Size is not the only consideration. Make and type of tire plays a big part. Tires with more sidewall ride better, and protect the rims better from pot holes. Tires also have to have the capacity to handle the weight you are hauling. That said, if you are just using this on pavement and want to improve the on pavement handling, get a stickier tires, with a wider footprint and a stiffer sidewall. Getting a high performance summer tire like the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, will make a bid difference, even in the same size. If you need an all season capable tire, check out the Nokian WR5
  8. I would keep looking. I bought a 2015, SWB, White on Black, AWD with the full Executive Platinum package and 85,000 Klms for $32,000 in Jan this year. Bought from Birchwood Lexus in Manitoba. Absolutely pristine. Original owner, bought from Birchwood but was never driven in salt or snow. Would have preferred the Tan interior too, as that is what I had in my previous one, but this one was so perfect interior color came second. I would not buy a pre 2013 LS460 as they made substantial improvements in 2013 and 2014. I am still looking for a low mile 2017 in white or Red with Tan interior. If I ever find one, I will sell this one.
  9. I would be taking this issue up the food chain. Car came misaligned, this is NOT normal tire wear. This is consequential damage and should absolutely be covered. Take it to the owner, any decent dealer should be going to bat for you. Then Lexus if you need to. Best of luck. Let us know how you make out.
  10. Have owned a 2006 GS 430,which is rear wheel drive, and am now driving a 2015 LS460 AWD . Two entirely different cars. The GS is sporty, responsive, and has a decent ride. The LS is a true luxury ride with good power, more space, especially for a rear seat passengers, and decent handling. The GS is way more fun for aggessive driving, the LS is the better long distance touring machine. As far as ownership costs, I have seen zero difference, the GS was bullet proof to 180,000 klms, and the LS has been too, but it only has 90,000 klms so far. I can't honestly say that repair costs have ever been a factor on any Lexus or Toyota product I have ever owned, and I have had many.
  11. If you did this to my car and started it, you are buying the car and I am getting another brand new one. No chance in hell I am assuming the long term risk when I can get another brand new un f'ed up replacement. You can sell your brand new dieseled GX for whatever you can get to mitigate your loss. If it wasn't started I would be good with drain, flush tank and refill.
  12. Owners manual is always a GREAT place to start. They are electric steering, no fluid.
  13. Take it to your Lexus dealer and make sure they have transfered the car to you. Also have their setup specialist walk you througg all the optional settings and help you set up the car the way you want it. That service is free.
  14. Good job and nice of you to take the time. Too bad the newbies never seem able to use a simple search function, or bother to say thanks for the answer..
