  1. In my 2006 RX330 I was able to transfer single numbers to my phone/nav system via bluetooth. Now, I have an iPhone which does not support that and I cannot find any way to enter new numbers manually or to edit existing numbers that have changed.

What is the solution for this? Is there a hack available or do Dealers have some way to enter/edit phone numbers via some device? Any ideas are appreciated.

  2. I cross posted this is the Detailing forum also

I have a 2006 RX330 and a couple of pieces of trim came off while driving. I have the pieces... a long rubber (plastic?) strip from the left side of the roof (goes front to back) and an big angular piece that goes around the left rear cargo window (looks like a V turned sideways).

My question is... what is the best adhesive to use to stick these back on? I am concerned about them coming off again at high speed in very windy conditions. Also, I am in Southern California, USA where the temperature is often above 90 degrees F.

    I would appreciate any advice.

  4. I have a 2006 RX330 and all was well. Last year I upgraded my phone to an iPhone and cannot figure out how to get phone numbers from my phone into my Lexus nav system. My wife has a 2007 ES350 and she is able to manually enter phone numbers but I fin no such feature in my car.

can anyone offer advice on how to put phone numbers in my car from my iPhone?

  5. You should be able to simply push the map button to regain the map display. I do not know of any way to prevent the comm screen from showing when receiving a call.

Hi. I just bought a 2007 RX400h and am trying to learn the navi system. I love the bluetooth feature but I don't like the fact it overrides the navi system if a call comes in. Is there a way to override that? (keeping the navi display up and the voice talking even after an incoming call comes in)

    Thanks!

  6. There is no user override feature. However, you can, while driving, issue voice commands such a 'fast food', 'gas station', 'restaurant' and the appropriate icons will show on the map (provided your scale is 1/2 half mile or less) then you can touch an icon and it will display the name of the POI represented by the icon. Some icons actually show the logo of the POI (McDonald's, for example).

  7. I have found it more efficient to enter the city first, then the street without St., Ave, or Blvd and then choose from what is presented. You may find that the address is actually Salem Lane or Salem Way despite being told it was Salem St.

Also, if it a fairly new neighborhood, that street may not be on the map.

    ----------------------

Just bought a 2002 GS300 with Navigation System. The system will not find this particular location. It will not give me the correct city to choose from.

Can someone please put this address into their system and see if it comes up correctly?

    2185 Salem Rd

    Conyers, GA 30013

Once Salem Rd is entered it will not give me a Conyers, Georgia city choice. I don't like that you don't have an option to enter the city manually.

Is this a Lexus DVD problem or just a problem with my particular car?

  8. I'm no electrician but I am curious... were the speaker wires shielded? If so, did you splice shield to shield as well as speaker leads? I would expect the static is coming from the engine. Any change in static associated with RPM or speed?

How will you resolve the bluetooth issue? Seems useless if the other party cannot hear you.

Nice job on the installation - looks professional.

Here are some pics of my double din dvd player install. I decided to go aftermarket because I've had 2 factory cd changers go bad and didn't want to buy another.
I did it myself using some instructions I found on LOC and CL. Its a 2000 GS300 and I bought the unit off of gooddeals18.com. It works great considering it was only $299 with bluetooth built in. However, the bluetooth works but I can't be heard on the other end of my phone call. They are giving me a $60 credit which brings my price to only $239, which is the price of the exact same player they have w/o bluetooth. This is my first radio install, it took a little research finding how to splice into car speakers but it wasn't that bad. Let me know what you think. Also, I'm getting some static in my speakers, maybe someone can give me some ideas of why. I'm an electrician by trade and I'm 99.9% sure everything is wired correctly you know neg to neg and pos to pos. What could be causing static??? Let me know what you

    think.

  9. Hi:

I have purchased a Sound Link 2 Audio Interface controler with build in XM radio interface for my 2006 Es 330.

It seems very easy to install, but I need help, with pictures in possible, on hoe to temove the dash/factory navegation screen/radio to install the interface.

I apreciate you help ASAP, you can email me at Carlos@Carlosinc.com

    Thank you

Carlos, I would sure like a link to that interface you got... sounds intersting.

With respect to removing the Nav system, here is a prior posting that might be useful... no pics but might be helpful

  10. Has anyone received this wiring diagram? If so, can you please fwd to dasadler@gmail.com?

    Thanks,

I am looking for a wiring diagram for an RX330 with Navigation and Mark Levinson sound. I am going to be installing a Bluetooth handsfree unit and I want to tap in the correct audio and mute lines.

Any out there with an RX330 service manual can also tell me how to remove the NAV and radio?

I have it. PM me your e-mail.

  11. Not sure but I belive ths is impacted by the model of RAZR and the carrier. For example, Verizon (in the USA) has disabled OBEX (object transfer) so transfer of phone book data is not available. Other carriers allow this.

My wife and I each have RAZRs and she uses Verizon so cannot transer phone book data. However, her 2007 ES350 allows it t be typed in (manually entered into the phone book) - also, we can use an old (no longer in use) ATT bluetooth Nokia to do the transfer. In my 2006 RX330, I cannot make manual entries in the phonebook so I use ATT as my carrier and transfer phone book data via Bluetooth.

I would appreciate any info you can share on the "secret email method". Also... I don't think the RAZR supports full phonebook transfer anyway.. just one number at a time.

Hopefully some of the other users will have information.

Does anyone have access to the method of uploading the information (i.e. data transfer) from a motorola razr into the bluetooth system on a 2008 Rx350? There was an old posting that mentioned a way to do it but I have been unable thus far to get the email "secret" method.
  12. Yes. In fact, you can use any Bluetooth phone (other than a Verizon model) that contains your phone data. However, most phones will not do a complete phonebook transfer so you will need to transfer them individually. Not as bad as it sounds, actually. I have found that I NEVER use the numbers in my Lexus phonebook, I only use the numbers from my phonebook that I have moved to the one touch dialing screens.

You may already know that, while it can be unsafe, you can dial from your handset even while driving and once the connection is made, you will talk using the Bluetooth interface.

I am well aware of the problems associated with Verizon and downloading the phone book to my RX 330. Can anyone please let me know if there is any way that phone numbers can be added either manually into the navigation system or transfer them wirelessly? I have a Motokrzr. Any information will be helpfull. Basically the system is useless without a phone book because the log disappears if you are moving. Can I use a old Ericsson T68 with bluetooth to transfer them instead. Please help.....Thanks

  13. Okay, I think my question was poorly presented. Let me ask it a different way. When the nav system is updated, does it only update the nav database or does it also update the nav S/W to all the current functions and interfaces associated with the upgrade version?

My wife just bought a 2007 ES-350 with Nav & Bluetooth. On her system, she can manually input telephone numbers into the phonebook whereas on my 2006 RX-330, all telephone book inputs must be transferred via Bluetooth.

Question - when I eventually upgrade my Nav system (prob 2010), will it also update the Bluetooth/telephone interface so I will also be able to manually input telephone numbers?

Thanks in advance from southern California

  14. First of all, I am only now noticing this on my 2006 RX330. I think it just started but maybe it is only now becoming annoying to where I notice it.

When I open the driver door, either after driving or in a parking lot, it "dings" - same sound as if a seatbelt is not fastened. It only sounds a single "ding". The other doors do not make this sound when opened.

How can I stop this? Is it a result of something I did?

  16. You might try this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LEXUS-TOYOT...sspagenameZWDVW

or this one where the starting price was not met - send an email to the seller, they might sell it cheaper

also, look at this forum - some guy mentions that a Pioneer unit uses the same remote - go to the page and search for your part number.

    http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/audi...t-center-w-dvd/

My kids lost the remote to the factory RSE DVD player in our 2003 LX 470. Does anyone know where I can get one for less than the $285 that dealer wants to charge me? Will some kind of universal remote work? The dealer told me the part number is 86170-34020 if that helps at all.

Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

  17. I cannot speak specifically to the phone models you mention. However, in a general sense, you should look for aphone that will allow you to transfer your entire phone book to the Lexus. My phone (a Nokia) and other people's phones frequently only allow a single transfer at a time and that is VERY VERY frustrating.

If I had it to do over, I would seek a phone that allowed that full transfer feature. problem is, most sales people have no idea what the phones can and cannot do.

We're picking up our RX400h next week and searching for a suitable Bluetooth phone.  I was leaning towards getting the well-reviewed Motorola E815 phone (we have Verizon), but I also see a new Samsung SCH-A950 is available.  The Verizon site lists the Samsung A950 as "Pending" on its Lexus compatibility matrix.

Has anyone here used a Samsung SCH-A950 with their Lexus Bluetooth?  Are all of the Bluetooth features (except phonebook transfer, of course)?  How does this phone compare to the Motorola E815's Bluetooth features?

Thanks for any insights you can provide!

  18. Thanks you - this is great! I use it on my 2005 RX-330. Now... who has a similar hack for the phone system? I would love to be able to dial without using the handset OR stopping.

Has anyone tried the process on the following link to override the nav system to allow you to enter destinations while driving.  I have read about kits you can buy, but this seems like a simple process for free. It's written for a Toyota Prius, but all of the above steps work on my 2005 ES 330.  I just didn't do the last step, but go all the way there.

    Thanks
