    17" 10 Spoke Chrome Rims from 06 GS300

  2. hi i have 06 gs3 with 2255017 on there and working at discount tires for 15 years this is a good size for a good ride if you wanna go with a wider tire and a common size tire is 2354517

    thanks

Thank you for the quick response. I will probably go with the 235/45-17 because it is a more common size and my tire dealer will need to order the 225/50-17's. How much will this effect my speedometer and odometer?

  3. I just purchased a set of 2006 17" GS 10 spoke chrome rims through ebay from OEMRIMS for my 2004 GS300. I was wondering what size tires I should get 225/50-17 standard size for 2006 or 235/45-17 standard size for 2004. The original 16" tires on my car were 225/55-16.

    225/55-16=25.74 outside dia. 80.82 circ.

    225/50-17=25.86 outside dia. 81.20 circ.

    235/45-17=25.33 outside dia. 79.52 circ.

The math says go with the 225/50-17. Does this make sense?

  4. I am looking to but 17" OEM 5 spoke chrome rims for my 2004 GS300. PM me if anyone has some for sale that are in excellent condition with or without tires. I am located in MA and would preffer to see them before I buy them if possible.

You might also want to try places like e-bay or perhaps even an auto wrecker or salvage yard should you not have any luck on here. B)

Thanks, I saw some on E-Bay but they are replicas, not sure of the quality.

  5. I have the Phython XP1400 on my GS same company Direct Electronics. I have the same problem and my installer said the same as yours that there is no information available to install it and have the auto headlights work. I have gotten in the habit of only using the remote starter buttons for remote start only. And I use the Lexus buttons for looking the car and unlocking the car when not using the remote starter. They the auto headlight will shut off in the normal time frame or by pressing the lock key twice. The only time my lights will stay on is if I remote start the car when it is dark out and the run time has expired. But this should not be a problem since you will be going to you car anyways.

Faiello, do you have just the remote start or the remote start & security combo? My in the remote start with security. I was told that if I use the lock, unlock feature on the Lexus keypad that it would send mixed signals to the Viper alarm and it would confuse the system. So I took the battery out of the key keypad. So I have to use the Viper remote to lock and unlock the doors. I don’t like spending $500 to have a remote start and security installed and lose some of the nice features of owning a Lexus. :censored:

Someone help me out here. The installer is willing to fix it if he knows what he has to do.

I am going to buying a remote starter.  Does anyone have a Remote Starter on their Lexus?    If so what is the best brand, Pros and Cons.  Living in the Midwest it gets very cold and snowy.  It would be great ot start the car from inside of work or the store so the leather is not freezing when I get in.  I can get a Viper 591 XV 2 way Remote Start System with the key transponder (i think that is what it is called) and installed for $392.  Who makes the best remote starter.  Help please.

    Any advice would be great.

  8. Will the 2006 18" Tourmaline wills fit properly on a 2004 GS 300? I saw this photo on another thread, but I am not sure if it is a photo crop or not. When I asked the person at the parts counter from my local Lexus dealer he said the they will stick out to far. Anyone know if he is correct or not?

  9. I called today to get a price on tinting my windows. They told me that the law in MA allows for 35% and because of that they will only put 50% on the doors which will get to about 35% with the factory tinting already there, and they will put 35% on the rear window. My question is will I be happy with only 35% or should I just forget about having it done?

  10. Is there a way to get around from pressing I Agree everytime you start the car?

I would like to know that answer too, it drives me crazy. Also, Is there a way to type in directions while driving? It would be very convienant to not have to stop.

I found this information at ClubLexus Fourms.com

Enabling nav menus while moving w/ no cables on 2001-2005 Lexus

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I saw the other posts on how to get to the system menu on the newer nav systems and turn on the override that lets you enter nav destinations while moving. After playing around with my nav system on my 2001 GS430, I figured out how to do the same thing. Press the menu button, then choose system option. Then press the top left of the screen, then the bottom left of the screen, then the top left again, then the bottom left again, then finally touch the bottom right of the screen. It will bring up a system menu. Choose the override button, then hit back. If you do this while moving, you won't be able to edit until you stop the first time. If you are stopped when you do this, then you can continue to edit while moving. You can do some other crazy stuff as well, I copied my DVD from my nav system and I am going to see if I can figure out how the thing works to modify it, so that this is enabled permanently, but until then, here you go....

    or....................

For my GS300 2004 (Nav with DVD), , the override was turned on very easily .....

    First press Menu

The "DVD button"" must be press (no "System button")

Press on the screen: Up Left, Down left, Up left, Down left, then Down right

And then, the "Override button" must be pressed for 5 sec

    .

Could we also make the DVD playing in front screen while driving with one of those new menu

    Enable this mod while driving...

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also note that if you forget to enable this override before driving the car, just go to the following menu to enable it while driving:

    1. [iNFO] Button

    2. Select "Language" (this should bring you to the main screen..."English..French..I Agree"

    3. Enter the mod command sequence

    4. Now enable override

    5. Repeat step 1 and step 2 so that you can accept the "I Agree" dialog.

The override should now be enabled while driving the car!
