I had almost the same problem with my es , the drives side would go down when it wanted to and always went up , the passanger one would go down but not back up from the drivers control. The problem was the switch , I called lexus the part price I got was $502, the shop I take it to was able to clean the existing switch and get it working again perfectly for now. Only charged $40 too. This problem originated because I spilled pop on the pannel last summer .. took almost a year before it started giving me problems.

98 es300 purchased in 2003 with 90km, it now has just less than 160 km the performance and the appearance has not diminished at all. It’s been dealer maintained since new and I’m confident that it will go far past 250 km.

How do i know if my timing belt has ever been changed? Would there be a sticker of some kind?
On the cover for the belt there is usually a sticker that has the date when it was serviced, If it was done at the dealer it should be there.

yeah. i had a similar problem when i bought mine. just pull out the driver side switch, pry it open and clean all the contacts, paying special attention to the passenger side one. the switch is pretty easy to get out.
Thanks for the help guys, I'll give that a try.

I am having a problem with my front right power window. From the right door it works fine, from the drivers control it will go down but it will not go back up. The other window controls work fine from the drivers side. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
Thanks ..

I've been using Downtown Toyota and quite pleased. They can't do warranty work on a Lexus, but I have them doing everything else. They have specials for oil changes, etc, and they even gave me a discount on rear brake pads. They're located on Queen St., just West of Broadview.
Thanks , thats really conviente for me i'll give them a try ..I due for a timingbelt.

I was wondering if any one can recommend a good shop in the Toronto or surrounding area. I have been servicing my car from the dealer for the past year the service is great but the labour rates are too much.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with the Pireli P6 tire?, I currently have a 98 ES and am in the process of selling my IS 17 inch rims so I will be going back to the OEM 15 inch rims. I need to get new rubber for thoes rims and am considering the Pireli P6, just wondering if any one has these tires on their ES or Camry and what they think of them?
Thanks
