I think the main reason why it's not as active as others is the lack of mods. I also belong to a BMW and a Mercedes board and those boards are constantly hopping because of new mods, pics that people do to their cars. The GX...well, what are u gonna mod-its perfect as is :)

I think it depends on the car. Thank god I had it for my BMW 5 series, but when my warranty runs out on my lexus.....not so sure it's necessary given lexus/toyota quality.

Speaking of ugly cars, Chris Bangle needs to be fired. I have always been a BMW fan but after I totalled my '01 528i, I could NOT stomach ANY of the offerings. They all have the crazy headlight shapes and big butts (I want big butts on my women, not my car!! :D

I had a '98 528i before totalling it last month (and hence now I'm a Lexus owner). I never believed in the "lifetime" transmission fluid but could NOT find ANY BMW dealer that would do a flush-at any price. "It's sealed" "You'll just stir things up" To their defense, I had 90k on the clock at the time of the accident with no tranny problems.

For me, I use Lexus over Toyota dealer b/c of the "fluff" - free loaner, stocked fridge. To each his own, but I just feel better knowing it's a "lexus-certified" tech working on my car. My jaw just dropped when I read the dealer wanted you to be responsible. Glad things worked out!

I'm no fan of GM but that statement is not true. All caddilacs use expensive Zebrano wood, more expensive than our maple wood on the GX.

From your picture there is DEFINATELY no brake light where it should be. This is only significant becuase some cheaper after markets (i.e. dealer making more money) don't have this brake light

the lower cladding is painted seperatly and made of ureathane so it will produce a slightly different colour

More importantly, why doesn't your rear spoiler have a brake light? IMO the bumper should definitely still match the rest of the car - mine does.

Hi. We have a VW Touareg that is not big enough for our 3 boys, ages 3, 2 and 8 weeks. Also, it breaks down more than it goes. Anyway, my wife doesn't want a minivan and we don't want a giant SUV. Also, we can't afford the LX470. Can the GX470 fit 3 car seats across? We use the Britax Roundabouts and they are 18" wide each. We don't need or care to use third row seating. Thanks

Didn't get SUV of the year 2 years in a row for nothing

hello everyone on the forum. i'm about to purchase an 05 or 06 gx470 when my ml320 lease is up. im interested in the pearl white exterior color but i keep seeing another color, whick has a light pinkish tinge, but is not in the book as available color and the dealers don't have a clue. what is this color?

p.s. has anyone put H.I.D. light in their gx and does it work ok?

It's call sand dollar pearl and was only available in 2003. It is now only available on the LX. I have it and it is stunning.
