  1. Hi guys, Im about to install a pioneer AVIC-D1 in my 98 Es. I would like some advice and information with this. For 1, where can I get a dash kit and wiring harness from. Also do they make a wood trim piece that could go over the kit to make it fully wood again. Or is there another way of doing it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  2. B) For everyone that owns a 1997-2001 ES300 (1MZ-FE), just curious as to the fuel mileage that you are currently getting from your car.  I am extremely pleased with my 25-27 mpg that mine is providing.  It still has the original spark plugs with 120,000+ miles.  B)

My normal Milage in my 98 is 24 to 25.1mpg (85% back roads at 45 MPH rest is in city). The WEIRD part is that after the Timing belt (along with seals and water pump) was done, I seem to be getting another .5 to 1.0 MPG more.

Just filled up yesterday at $2.18 for super duper, and got 184 miles with 7.363 gallons; which is about 24.92 MPG. Plus had AC on all week.

Highway is anwhere from 28 to 30 mpg.

Wow, 2.18 on super is amazing. I get about 24 - 25mpg on my 98 ES, thats without changing anything. Mostly drive highway.

  3. I would say go to www.newlexusparts.com to see how much a headlamp would cost from there.

Hid is the system, Xenon is the gass used in the system.

The control box is a must for your car and it does cost a lot but you shouldn't need a new leveling system it most likely wasnt dammaged in the accident. Also you can interchange head lamp housing. The non-hid headlanp comes with a 55w bulb and the Hid one comes with a 35w hid bulb(they go in the same spot corresponding to each lamp). The non-hid lamp doesn't come with a control box and harnessess for it. So its up to you if you want to do that. If your control box is fine and your bulb is fine then you can because the control box can be taken off.

So it's up to you. You would save around 200-300.

    Good luck!

  4. Hi guys, I want to have the word "lexus" cut into my cars door handles and have an LED behind it to glow when the alarm is hit. So far I went to a custom guy and he said the hardest thing would be getting the word lexus cut through on the handles. He said the plexy glass under the handle and led's would be easy. I want to know if anyone know where i could get the door handles cut with the word "lexus" in it. Or should i used a different handle to cut threw. Thanks a lot for any feedback.

  6. Also, if you happen to pass by NYC, i can tell you, there are tons of junkyards there too.  I don' t know if it's in this forum or the LS forum, but I mentioned if you go to FLUSHING QUEENS they have a lot by Shea Stadium.  You will most likely find what your looking for there.

Also if you go to Yahoo Yellowpages... look for the automotive repair shops, if you type in "11358" thats my zip code... you should find a lot of junk yards or repair shops popping up.  There are a lot of customizing shops there in NYC too.  So you can probably find someone that will sell something your looking for n perhaps modd  it for you.

Let me know how thigns work out.

Hi Kcpth, I live in the New York Area and my family lives in Flushing I wanted to know if you can help me find Lexus Es300 00 - 01 tail lights for my 98.

P.S: Just joined this forum and it is amazing! I thought no one out there had mods or ideas for an ES300.
