  1. The LX isn't actually sold in Japan, the closest equivilent is the Land Cruiser Prado. The Lexus IS is sold in Japan as the Toyota Altezza. Other than that, Jims got it! Lexus is being introduced in Japan so pretty soon all the cars will have the same names as here.

casee- The GS has never been connected to the Carina, the Avensis is a different sedan. The GS has always been sold in Japan as an Aristo. The picture you supplied of the Carina looks nothing like the GS lol, its a hatchback and sinificantly smaller than the GS.

Here's some photos of the JDM Aristo you can select them by year:

As you san see its identical to our GS.

They have sedan as well and what about platforms?

  2. Hi All.

After replacing thermostat in my LS400 '91, i lost some coolant fluid after refilling can't get out air bubbles of outcoming hose from heating radiator. While accelerating up to 5000rpm flow from water pump can not push it out.iIt seems it is a highest point in cooling system. It ain't no fun to drive at -20 degrees celcius.

  3. I noticed that mine LS traction sometimes doesn't work properly and indication Traction Off comes together with check engine icon in dashboard. When traction works again all the indication goes off. The more attention should be adressed to traction control/speed sensors rather than engine, battery cables, or what radio station you listened while having a problem.

  4. Well 3 days ago I bought mine LS 400 with 130k.Overall inside/outside tidy car. The price was OK and condition seemed ok. Since I drove last time with Lexus year or so ago it it very complicated to figure out the differences. Only on second day i realise i need a new shocks due to bumpy road. Overall inside/outside tidy car but electronics-

Should wait for a while in cold weather for tacho to start,

Somehow fog lams don't come up no sound from relay,

Seats heater relay clicks but no heat,

Electronic switch for trunk to open:( dead,

No reverse lights but bulbs OK,

    Infamous ac/temp/clock/display

So I considered some spendigs... before I buy. Since I am car electric these things I will fix myself. I ordered full service parts and shocks. First bill from workshop would be around $1000-$1500
