I took my Lexus ES 350 to Chicago this summer. All aspects of the nav system appeared to be working fine. On the way home I noticed that the time calculations were not matching the distance I needed to travel. I understand there is a setting for standard highway speed etc. but the time don't match those settings either. For example, my setting for highway speed is 100 km/hr. and if I have 100 kilometers to drive the nav system is telling me the trip will take 1 hr. 45 mins. There is no city driving calculated into this. It is all highway. Has anybody else experienced this? Any suggestions? Just take it to the dealer or am I missing something here?
Any help appreciated.

A lot owners have this done. It's usually referred to as clear bra. Usually you can save money by finding a local shop who installs a name brand product. As you mentioned, the dealership contracts this type of work out and there is an upcharge involved. $500 might not be too bad depending on how much area it includes and what brand of film is used.
Thanks for the response, Bob. I think it covers the front bumper/grill area and the front of the hood. Is there a brand or thickness of polymer I should look for?

Speaking of protecting the paint on a new Lexus, i just purchased a 2014 ES 350 and want to take it on a road trip with my family. I inquired at the dealer what they can provide for protection from bugs and stones and they said they have a clear plastic polymer that they can install to protect the hood and front grill area. It is done by a dealer authorized/licensed business. Has anybody here had it done or had any experience with this process. They are charging me 500.00 to do it.
Customizing StartupImage

I have a Lexus ES 350 2014 Love the car and all it's functionality, but seem to be unable to change the startup image. I have followed the manual to a "t", but still no success. I have jpeg images, reasonably small, and I even tried making the names exactly 32 characters (read that was the fix) but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
