  1. $11,500

    98 ES300 w/ 68k miles

Purchased in Aug 2004 from NJ Toyota Dealership

    Black/Ivory (No CD Changer)

    Mint Condition inside and out

Had 90k Mile service and regular maintainance. Only defect was in EGR Valve and 1 O2 sensor which occured well after the purchase. Aside from that it's been treating me well. I think I've got like ~120k miles on it now....yes, i enjoy my road trips. :-)

  2. This is a response to a post recently closed due to....

I wasn't aware of the policy that someone else couldn't run a car history report for you on a vehicle (odometer, # of accidents...etc) you were thinking about buying. I thought I've seen it done on this site multiple times but could be mistakened? In any case, I just wanted to make it clear that my intentions were not to steal. Thanks for the clarification though.

  3. Lexus has a one time free ECU replacement program for those that have lost their master keys. I used it not long ago and the only expenses I was responsible for was the purchase of new master keys ($60/each) and the labor to install/program the new ECU unit (~$90). Make sure you contact Lexus Corporate, not the dealership...good luck.

  4. I had a buddy of mine replace the front O2 sensor with a brand new OEM sensor. He then cleared the CEL but after 20 mins the same codes showed up again! He used a diagonstic machine to read the #'s and didn't notice any unusual readings. I am going to have him take a closer look at it after the holiday wkend but I wanted to ask you all for any further suggestions? Thanks again.

  5. Unfortenatly, my check engine light just came on the other day. Went to autozone and pulled the following codes from my 98 ES300:

-P0125: Closed Loop Fuel Ctrl Insufficent Coolant Temp

-P1133: Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor Circuit Response Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

-P1135: Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

Any idea as to what might be wrong???? Thanks in advance.

  6. Dang, car with no keys! I'd call Lexus Corporate requesting a free ECU; don't volunteer to much info, just give them what they ask for (VIN, Year, Name). No point having a car with no keys, whether it be Lexus or Bentely. Definitely agree with the above comments regarding how courteous and kind their reps are. Never hurts to try...

  7. If you enjoy power (v8-300hp), luxury and sport go with a used 02'-03' GS 430...beautiful car! Like any other car, make sure you run a carfax on all vehicle considerations. Also, like stated above, ensure that the owners have service records of the car.

Keep in mind that Lexus's success foundation is build on high quality so I highly doubt that you will be disappointed. Good luck!

  8. Dang, really sad to hear about that. I had a rear accident in my ES a few wks ago and the dude didnt even have insurance. Just payed me cash $4500 for the damages and mostly to keep my mouth shut. It's currently in the shop getting fixed. If I were you, I'd take it to a body shop for inspection/estimate, then make a decision from there...

  9. I've been trying to locate the 00-01 tail light assembly set but am having trouble finding the entire set for sale. I've looked on ebay and other auto sites. Most people are just selling the far end left/right parts. Haven't called the dealer yet but are there any other spots I can look at?? Thanks again.

  10. LoL, very interesting opinions. Well, I am going to use the $$$ to first have a professional fix and restore the vehicle. If theres more than $1500 left, I might consider returning a few hundred and keeping the rest for: tuition, 00-01 tail lights, rims, vacation... I felt bad enough that he handed over $4500 with no negotiation, however, the guy has broken the law by driving without a license & insurance and was more than willing to pay me extra to keep me from dialing 911. I hope he has learned his lesson. Whats distrubing is the thought of how many people are in fact driving with suspended licenses these days; not right at all...

    More later.

    :D

  11. Good point. Initially I was going to do the ethical thing and report him but I was feeling extremely considerate yesterday. The impact wasn't huge but fortunetly I am feeling ok. I have all his info (vehicle type, license number, full name and VIN #) just in case I need to locate him again. His wife actually dropped off a cashiers check in my name. I immediately went to the bank and deposited the funds. All is done now. Just gotta search for a body shop. Posted below are the actual pics of the accident. Really appreciate all the help and advice.

  12. The car was in excellent condition at 105k miles. The damage is in the far left rear corner and extends just a little to the side of the car; bumper is definitely pushed far in however, the lens seems to be only shattered rather than pushed in. I haven't had a chance to take an actual pic yet but here is another ES300, I circled the damaged area in green. $2000 is what I also expected. Do you guys recommend I get an estimate from the dealership or should I shop around at different body shops? Thanks.

  13. Well guys, had my first accident today. Some dude in his Toyota Tundra slammed into the rear of my 98 ES300. He dented the rear bumper badly and also cracked one of my taillights. Check this out though, the dude has a suspended license and desperatly begged for me not to call the police. He was sooo nervous and surprisingly offered me $4500 for the damages. I accepted the offer but wanted to check with you guys to see if this was actually worth it. How much is it going to cost to replace my entire rear bumper and 1 of my rear taillights??? If the $4500 doesnt cover the costs I will call him for additional funds. I'll try and post pics tonight. Thanks guys.
