  1. ...this may or may not be relevant to your situation...but it did save me $3000.  I was dealing with 2009 Lexus.  The issue was bad headlight caused by moisture invasion...2 Lexus dealers said they knew nothing of that sort problem...very hard to believe....check on line to find the two class actions suits citing this problem....when brought to attention of Company Lexus, they resolved the $3000 problem...Good Luck

  2. .....sorry about your problem...I'm no mechanic but have many yrs experience...first look for a miracle...put paper under car when parked...see if any leak. If yes leak the miracle you want is bad oil plug or bad filter gasket...if no miracle, then it gets expensive i.e.. bearing seals, piston rings whatever...what is this you are saying about a repair guarantee of 9yrs???never heard that one....

  3. .....my wife has 2009 GS350 32,000Mi driven only on US5 at 70mph, 400Mi to LA...car has been zero problem and looks like new. I have been a car guy all my life, and that's a long time....(sorry she just tells me the forward distance camera with obstruction beeper just stopped working...but I know zero electronics)....anyhow we just got service proposal from Lexus Marin. They propose $659 oil change "health check"??, change brake fluid, cabin filter, wash car, rotate tires, balance 4 tire upgrade??....Here is where they loose me....They are going to throw in my engine....32oz (1quart) of zMAX Micro Lubricant which Lexus says will Improve Performance, Extend my engine life and Reduce Emissions....Since when is Toyota/Lexus pushing bogus Snake Oil??? This sort of crap has been around as long as I can remember, Mystery Oil, Snake Oil...Used to sell it at Pep Boys to the Yahoos....The Federal Trade Commission File No.0123116 says this stuff is bogus crap best for those who believe in flying saucers....AND WHEN TESTED showed INCREASED BEARING WEAR....I will no longer do business with LEXUS MARIN...

  4. .....Thanks Steve for your reply....I did not make my question clear. I took my wife's 2009 LS350 for the cam gear recall. All went well. I just took a look under hood to be sure any obvious things were OK. First thing I notice is that hose anchor bracket on right front fender well. It has a hole in correct place to attach hose fitting. Directly under bracket (2 inchs) there is AC hose with fitting to attach to bracket. It seems obvious that hose is supposed to be attached to bracket. The mechanic says no, that bracket is used on many different models and not to be attached on LS350. Now I believe everything people tell me but if it don't make sense I check it out. All I really need is for someone with a 2009 LS350 to look and see if hose is attached to bracket. I have posted this long dull story 6 times and hope someone will help me out to put this small troublesome issue to bed.

  5. ....I just had car to dealer for recall service (replace end of camshaft gears) I was apprehensive because job involves major disassembly of front of motor. The job was done in one day, car runs fine. I looked under hood and first thing I see is there is on front right wheel well a hose anchor bracket, but the AC hose 2 inches under bracket is not attached. There is a proper hole in bracket to attach AC hose and the hose has fitting to attach to bracket. Mechanic says its OK not attached. This does not seem right to me. Would someone with GS350 look at your car and tell me if you have same bracket and is hose attached. Thank you JimB

  6. ......I have 3 cars, 2 require 91 and the volvo takes 87. Your best bet for better performance is to use 91. In an emergency I would have no problem using 87 although you might hear pinging or knocking going up hill. Probably less problem if you have half tank of 91 and mix in half of 87. The compression rating of motor is factor in needing 91. Could you do me favor. I have 2009 GL350 that was just worked on by dealer, I notice that on front right inside wheel well, under hood, that there is a AC hose connector bracket and right below that there is AC hose with fitting ment to be attached to bracket. Mine is not connected and dealer says that is OK. Hard to believe. Is the one on your car connected to the anchor bracket? Thanks JimB

  7. ....did you really pay $300 for a spark plug when they were going to do a cam gear recall? How did it all play out. Could you do me a favor, I just had my 2009 GS350 done on the cam gear recall. I noticed that on my right front inside wheel well that there is a AC hose connector support bracket but the AC hose right below was not attached to bracket. The dealer said it was correct not connected, very hard to believe. Would you look for me and see if the one on your car is attached to bracket. Thanks JimB

  8. .....has your wheel issues been resolved? A popular wheel coating is "powder coating" essentially a baked on process. These can be refinished. Could you do me a favor and look under the hood of your car at the front right inside wheel well. Is the Air Condition hose attached to a hose support bracket attached to wheel well. My dealer is telling me my hose does not need to be attached. I believe anything I'm told but I like to check it out. Thanks JimB

  9. ....Cam gear recall issues....How did your situation work out? I just brought my 2009 GS350 in for recall on cam shaft gear replacement...had same concerns over them taking things apart.

After job I looked under hood...on right front inside fender there is an AC hose anchor bracket. The AC hose about one and half inch below bracket was not connected to the bracket. The mechanic said that was correct, no problem. Could you please look at your car and tell me if the AC hose is fixed to the bracket. Thanks JimB

  10. .....I am new to forum and don't have hang of it yet, you are right to have repair you mention. I have a small issue I need help on. Brought my LS350 (2009) to have recall replace on the cam gears. First thing I look under hood to see any obvious problem. On right front inside fender well there is an AC hose anchor bracket. In the bracket there is an appropriate hole to connect AC hose. About one and half inch under bracket there is AC hose with appropriate fitting to go into the hole above in bracket. At first glance it looks like they forgot to connect AC hose to anchor bracket. I bring to their attention and they say everything OK and hose not designed to be attached to bracket. Don't make sense to me. Anyone out there with 350 would you look at your car and tell me if hose belongs attached to bracket. Thanks JimB
