  1. Hey guys,

I previously had a shaking problem like a week ago at around 50-60 mph.  I purchesed centering rings and THAT SOLVED the problem. i was so relieved. But today, they started shaking not as bad, but noticable, around 50-60mph. IM so sad.  I thoguht the problem was solved. I cant think of anything else i can do to fix it. I just got an allignemnt job two days ago, all rotors are straight. wheels are balanced.  What else could it be?  Can anyone suggest or help me.  ITs really annoying.

If you have a high performace tire, (speed rated) there is a lot of nylon in the tire.

So when the tire is cold, it will have flat spots. This is normal for a speed rated tire. This will go away after the tire heats up. If it is not going away, you might have a tire out of round. Try having a match balance done, this will tell you if one is out of round or not.

  2. Happy New Years eve all,

Need the forum's expertise assistance on recognizing the master key for a 1998 GS400.

I have a key without the remote which opens the locks, trunk and ignition.  It does not fit the glove box.

Was wondering if this is still considered a master key and can interface with the transponder to program other keys.....or is this just the valet key.

Unfortunately it's the only key that is available.  I compared all the keys from my RX300 and the difference between the key with remote (which is used for everything) and the remote-less key is the 'cut' on the side, which makes it fit into the glove box keyhole.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance and everyone have a Happy, Safe and Sober New Years Eve.

I agree with Tom, its the valet key. Especially if it is a different color.

  3. Members,

    I just bought my 1st Lexus, a 2001 GS430  31K miles.  Awesome!

It's pretty powerfull, however,  what is correct or best way to get the rated 5.8second 0-60.  From a dead stop I basically floor it.  With timer on my watch I get around 7.5sec. I would have expected the tire to burn out or at least squeal.  The ECT in in power mode, shifter in D position.  Am I suppose to hold the break with left foot and rev up the engine before releasing brake? I'm not a racer so parden my ignorance....

    thx

Dude I have only one thing to say. SRT intake and PC upgrade, and hold on!

  4. I have a 2003 GS 430. So far I have put a SRT Intake and piggy back computer. It has the Borla exhaust, which is really starting to sound good, don't get me wrong, it sounded good to start. Now that it has been on the car for a year or so, it seems to be a little louder, which is just fine. :D I just recently replace the factory rubber with a set of Kumho Ecsta MX, (255x45yr17). Nice and wide, and very sticky once they heat up. Had the car at 140mph and the ride was awsome!!!

Lots of fun jacken with the Mustang GT boys, leave them scratching thier heads when you run off a leave them. :D

  5. :D

I am looking for a nice reliable Lexus with good performance and this is the two that I want the most. I either want a 1997+ SC400 or a 1998+ GS400. Just curious, but which one is more joy to ride in. Also, I know both are reliable, but which one am I less likely to have problems with. Thanks

Have 2003 GS430, has Borla Exhaust, SRT intake and PC upgrade, the car hauls !Removed!. Must say it is fun giving the Mustang GT boys a bad time.

  6. Need your help guys...and girls. Does anyone know if the GReddy PE exhaust was discontinued or not? Also, has anyone ever heard of somthing called the Eagle @ exhaust? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    MonStarr

I do not have any info on those two exhaust systems for you. I do have the Borla Exhaust on my GS 430. It has a very deep sound, which, over time with use, is sounding really good. It is much cheeper than the GReddy, easy to install, and very nice looking. If your not set on the GReddy, and open to other avenues, would definately check it out.
