  1. Congrats on the new CPO Gap. You are so right about car loans......I took my first loan on the Lexus because of the low interest rate.....and paid it off in 16 payments because I did not like the feeling - never again.

Good for you! Could I have walked away with a new 2014? Yes. But I have learned over the years to live within my means. It is a sweet feeling (financial peace) entering into retirement in Feb 2015 with no debt including the home mortgage. Loans on depreciating items like vehicles just never made much sense. But that is just me.

  2. Loved reading through all these posts. I am driving a 2010 ES350 that I just bought as a CPO. I'm 61 and have for the last 20 years I have lived debt free so as I always do paid cash for this one. I had no trade in as I gave my son my 4Runner. Put a set of Michelin Primacy MXV4's at 30psi and you will not feel any road bumps or noise. It's great to see the younger folks migrating to the ES350. PS. vehicles ride better when they are paid for.:)

  3. I chose the Matador Red Mica Lexus because I love to detail my own cars and the darker colors really pop when properly detailed. Blacks are great, but for someone OCD keeping it clean is a nightmare. But I would buy another black- a glutton for punishment :chairshot: . I prepped the car by clay barring to remove the 4 years of contamination on the vehicle, then used a Griot's Garage 6" Dual Action Orbital polishing machine and Adam's Polishing products for the polishing phase. Since this is a daily driver for me and having the swirl marks and light scratches removed with the polishes I added a sealant for protection. I will add 2 thin layers of wax this fall for the upcoming winter months. This CPO car was purchased 2 weeks ago and looks 10x better than the detailing job the dealership did on it before I picked it up.

  4. GapWedge.. I checked.. the car has new Michelin Primacy on there already.. looks like I'm set for a while there!

I also took the car over to a friend who has a nice auto shop locally and he hooked it up to the diagnostic computer and looked it over to see if there was anything I needed to be sure and report while under warranty.. he said it looked good and I got a good deal!

Visited another friend who used to do detail work and he pointed me in the right direction of what I need to do to maintain the leather and finish.

    So happy!

A CPO that extends its warranty for 3 years/100,000 miles will seldom have issues. Mine came with new brakes and tires. Check out Adam's Polishes for detailing including interiors. Zaino's is another great product. I'm glad you have peace of mind with a second opinion. Set you tire pressure to 30 pounds for the ride of your life on those Primacy's.
  5. New member.. I am having trouble pairing a Droid Maxx to my 07 ES350. Can not find my phone on the websites list of compatible list.

    Thanks

First of all welcome! Wish I could help. My iPhone paired with my '10 ES. You might try talking to a Lexus dealership service dept.

  6. CPO is how I just got my 2010 this week and am happy so far.

They kept trying to sell me the extended warranty on top of the 3/100 but it just did not seem to be a smart move to me for the cost of it.

I've read others on here have felt the same.

Is that still the general feeling?

I denied the extended warranty as well all the other add ons they threw at me on my CPO.

  7. Interesting read through these posts. I am new here and enjoy the site. I turn 60 later this month and just got my first Lexus, 2010 ES 350. I have owned a Cressida, 3 Camry's, and 2 4Runners. I have to admit the ES350 is the best riding car I have owned. Bought it off a Toyota dealer's lot with the intensional desire to get another Camry. Once I test drove it I was sold!

  8. All of thats well and good...

...but the manufacturer of the vehicle recommends a pressure of 30PSi. So thats what I run. I've put over 200,000 miles on Lexus ES sedans, and over 200,000 miles on Lexus LS sedans and I can tell you with authority that the cars ride the best under the factory recommended PSI and increasing PSI rapidly diminishes ride comfort.

What tires do you run @ 30 psi? Getting some Michelin Primacy's installed Monday. Just curious. Thanks.

  9. I have 2 times the lights comes up. And it is for the spare tire in 3 years of service. The last one it was about 22-23 psi. Actually if we want ot know the threshold, bring along a electric pump, deflat the tire to the point the warning light comes on. Then we'll know the threshold value. Or just try the spare tire.

yeah, worth trying out..at least we will finally have the answer

I will reset mine after putting in 35 or 36 psi, and than test it to see where the threshold is, and if it is a fixed delta from the set point or a percentage

Just be aware that the system only interrogates the transmitter on one minute intervals. So, with the engine running, let out a set amount of air, and then wait up to a minute to see if it triggers the warning light.

Mine goes off all the time due to the spare as best that I can tell.

BTW, I am not all that busy right now so I could make the trip to Japan. I even used to have a driver's license to drive in Japan (on the wrong side of the road). Since I'm old, radiation shouldn't have that much of an impact on my life expectancy. Plus I could research other items for the club as well.

I have nuclear power plant experience so I should go with you. Getting new tires Monday and I will air all 5 to 30 psi and initialize my monitor, then will check with my digital gauge the moment the light comes back on. Testing the spare is a good idea though. Be interested to hear back from you guys.

What tires are you getting? My best experience ever has been with Michelin Primacy. I know it's crazy, but whether or not my tires (Michelin Energy™ MXV4 S8) are worn out or not next summer, I will be replacing them with the Primacy. They have better traction, handle better, and are more comfortable. The last ones that I almost wore out got 56K. The S8's are pretty good, though.

    Primacy MXV4's H rated 215/55/R17

  11. In the winter position the wipers are higher so as to be easy to find if covered with snow. The summer position protects them from the sun. Mike

Winter position?? Yes, the blades can park in two positions but calling the upper one "winter" is personal opinion and technique, not something Lexus advertises. The upper lock position allows you to pull the wipers up and away from the glass while you're washing the car (or changing the blades) without the low part of the arm contacting the rear edge of the hood and rubbing/scratching the paint.

It's an interesting thought to use that feature in winter, but I kept mine down through 2 winters here in Dayton OH with no problems.

Obviously, the previous owner of my '10 350 kept them in the down position because I will have to get some touch up paint to fix the marks from the wipers on the hood edge. I will be moving mine to the up position. Nice to know. Thanks.

  12. I found the 2 black buttons, the one on the left is the low tire pressure reset. When I am pressing it the amber light display will flash on and off, but will not stay off. I am guessing until I bring my tires up to proper pressure it will not reset and stay off. Is that correct?

Edited to note: Just had 4 new Michelin MXV4 Primacy's installed. Once 30 pounds were in all 4 tires plus the spare I pushed the reset button and held it until it blinked 3 times then released. So, I should be good to go.
