    Tire Wear

Do some reseaarch, both on www.Consumerreports.org and go to www.tirerack.com. Both websites have great information and tire rack has thousands of customer reviews. Look at the mileage rating of any tire you are considering, the higher the better, and look at the manufacterer's warranty for mileage. I have found that 500 and higher gives you the 50k that you are looking for, watch the other ratings also to see how that tire performs. My 450h came with Dunlop Grantreks which is an absolute junk tire. My only dissatisfaction with Lexus is that they did put such a junk tire on a high end vehicle!!
  2. We have a 450H and live in Clovis, (aka Fresno, CA) so we have the same daytime heat as you do in AZ. Ours is a dark exterior and the black/buckskin interior. We have not had any issues getting our interior cooled down within a reasonable amount of time, even being parked for hours in 105 plus dgrees. I do notice that the heat coming off that black dash is incredible. My wife uses a sunshade most of the time, helps a lot. Now you have me curious, let me pull out my thermometer and see what mine does!
  3. I am 'gulligirls' husband that just bought her the 450, I had her test drive both the 350 and the 450, (I did not drive either one) and I sat in the passenger seat. The difference in the overall ride between the two was very obvious to me. The hybrid rides much smoother, (obviously because it weighs more), and of course, very quiet! We are in Clovis, (CALIF) which is like living in an oven, so the air keeps the engine running much of the time when vehicle is not moving. Anyway, our orientation lasted 2 hours, in the heat, ran around the rest of the day, then we took off for San Fran the next day, doing 70-75 most of way. I had to fill up on the way back, and thought oh no, here goes 20 gallons,HA! it only took 12 gallons so my first tank I got 27 mpg overall, I'm very happy! I am a very heavy footed driver, but now I find myself playing the 'keep the engine off' game! And my wife? she loves it! She's already sewn a cover for the center armrest in front so the leather won't get discolored from body oils!
  4. Thank yoi
  5. Replaced my wife's Highlander last weekend. I was looking at the rx350, then my says 'what about the hybrid?' we drive one and the difference even in the ride was very noticeable. So she gets on this website asking which one she should get and everyone told her to get the hybrid. We plan on keeping this one at least 8 or more years so we should come out ahead Took it to San Francisco last weekend and got 27 mpg on first tank, that included 2 hours sitting and idling in 100 degree heat with the air on while getting our orientation at the dealer. Look forward to visiting this website Steve
