the last song

I am having trouble even getting a reading at all from any of the connections. Where are you putting the probes? I am a total newbie with this (just bought my first multi-meter for this project). The probes don't seem to be making any contact. I've bought the mircro probes, but still no reading. I've tested the probes on some of the circuits(I'm not sure if that is even the right word) on the board (that the screen used to be attached to) just to make sure I was using the multi-meter correctly. I am getting a reading on those circuits, just not on any of the 4 lines on the ribbon connecting at the glass. Please help.
