  1. I would like to thank you in advance for your help!

I have 98 ES300. Everything works fine except on and off no audio from the right side of the speakers. If I turn balance to right and cranck up the volume it picks up sound but goes off after sometime.

What could be the problem and what need to be done?

I called local Lexus dealer but did not want to diagnose over the phone.

    Thanks!

  2. I bought a used lexus in Nov of '04 with 97k miles. After few days of driving, I noticed that it is making more noice than 97 camry (my friend has it). When I had tires rotated, steering was vibrating and vehical was pulling to right. Thought wheel bearing is gone. I had Midas check it and serviceman suggested that problem was not related to wheel bearing but it is due to scallopped tires. Did not mention any other reason besides suggesting new tires. I am thinking about getting new tires but do not want spend money without fixing the root cause of the problem.

    What could be the problem?

Is the problem related to struts, shocks or something else?

How do I know if problem is due to a particular item?

Where should I get it done to save money but want best parts.

    I really appreciate your input!

    Thanks!

  3. I took the glove box out and checked the amp, it was just as pioneersuby described with blue Pioneer serial number sticker on it.

The sound had been dropping out and coming back, so I checked all the wires for any looseness and was surprised by the tension on some of the wires that were going to the top connector. I unplugged each connector and looked for poor connections. Removing the top or bottom shut the head unit down, the middle connector only stopped the rear speakers. I did my best to remove the excess tension on the wires, and put it all back together. It has now worked without a problem for two days, so I am hoping I found the source of the trouble.

    Thanks for the help,

    Chris

How is your audio system working now?

I have similar problem with es300.

  4. If you have crappy jumper cables they usually will not help transfer enough power to start.

I am unsure what you are saying in your last post.

Did you now change the battery in the car?

"i went and changed the battery. It worked fine."

then you say "I'll try again to make a new battery is running "

Those two ideas contradict eachother and i have no clue what you are trying to say you did or didn;t do.

I'm sorry for not being clear. I had installed new battery yesterday, it started the car fine. Just to make sure things are working fine, I wanted to start the car in the morning again.

    Thanks alot.

  5. I think you need a new battery.

When is the last time it started?

When you gave the car a jump start from another car ,how long did you let the good car idle to restore it before starting your dead car .

I let it run for half hour. After few hours tried again.... same problem.... I went and had changed the battery. It worked fine.

I'll try again to make new battery is running.

I really appreciate your expert help.

    Thanks alot.

  6. It means you do not have enough battery power to the starter.

The noise is the solenoid motor trying to engage the high current starter motor but as soon as it does engage the starter it loses charge and the solenoid retracts as it has a voltage drop to great to keep itself engaged.

Thus the process keeps repeating and you hear a clicking.

    Thanks for reply again!

    I grasped bit.

could you please also tell me what I should do?

Should I try start the car while jumping and somebody applying the gas to get more power / voltage?

    Thanks!

  7. I am unsure of what battery cranking up means?

Is the starter motor turning over ?

Is it making a rapdi clicking noise but the engine is not turnign over?

    Thanks for reply!

I meant rapid clicking noise but the engine is not tuning over.

I feel like starter motor is not turning over.

What does rapid clicking noise mean? I'm have no clue about auto terminology.

    Thanks for your help.

  8. Hello Everone!

My ES300 engine is not starting at all. This is the sequence I have followed so far.

    Day 1

Put key in the ingnition, turned all the the dash boards lights are up --- good.

Tried to give ignition, all I here is battery cranking up --- no problem but engine is not starting.....I tought battey may not have enough juice to run the engine ...... jumped ..... same response ....... turned off the automatic headlights, ceiling lights and other electronic componants......tried to start the engine again....no luck....

    Day2.

    Tried again......no luck.....same cranking sound...no different.

This is how it sound kut...kut...kut.. nothing else.....

I belive power is not going beyond the crank with ignition...

    It seems battery is ok...

Please give me your expert opinion and guide me step by step if possible.

    Thanks for your response.

  9. Hi Everyone:

I have recently purchased a 98 lexus es300 from private owner. This perticular vehicle's nakamichi audio system has few problems.

    1. Most of the times right side speakers do not produce any sound at all. Once i have noticed that sound gradually went dead on the same side.

    2. No sound is produced from cd player. Display shows that cd is playing but no sound from any speakers or sub woofer (if it has).

Could you please tell me what is the problem and what should I do to rectify it.

    Thanks alot.

    Gopal

note: on the title i said 97 but it is 98.
