  1. Had a white 2004 RX330, which was a beautiful color. When I went to trade it in, I wanted a white 2006 RX400h. Sitting on the dealer's floor was a Bamboo Pearl RX400h with everything I wanted, and I fell in love with it immediately. Needless to say, white left ther equation. The Bamboo Pearl is a very subtle color. Some people don't even realize it's green. They think it's silver.

I thought the Brandywine Mica was a much richer looking color than the Matador Red. I think I would choose it for my next RX, but I wouldn't say no to a good deal on a Matador Red RX.

  2. also with the competition with the GS hybrid. Also, it used to be only toyota and lexus and of course honda who made hybrids, but now Ford motor has some that achieve good economy as well. Competition!

Oh btw, with the newer model with the RX, how come they didnt add the smart access as well...are they going to wait until they release the L finesse redesign?

Here we go again. You could buy two Ford Escape Hybrids for one Lexus RX400h. If people want an economical car, they can buy any of the Ford/Honda/Toyota hybrids. The Lexus is a LUXURY automobile! People don't tend to spend $50,000 on a car and worry about gas mileage. Other issues (performance, ride, etc.) drive purchasers at these price points. If sales are down, perhaps the initial frenzy is over, and we are seeing a more normal market for these cars.

  3. Maybe I'm crazy, but I didn't buy my 400h for fuel economy. It would be nice if it comes in better than my 2004 RX330, but I liked the idea of the power of a V-8 engine. I always expect a "larger" engine to consume more gasoline. Anything over the 330 is gravy as far as I am concerned. And, oh yes, this one runs on regular gas.

  4. Most Lexus dealers don't do body repairs. Glad it looks like its resolved!

My dealer in Wilmington, DE also doesn't do body. Do you know why Lexus dealers have chosen not to have body shops? My insurance company sent me to a Chevy dealer (fat chance!) Found an independent shop to fix my front bumper ($3K - ouch.) They did a beautiful job.

  5. Yeah some of them don't. As for Oregon having so sales tax, have you ever bought out of state before? Usually you pay sales tax in the state the car is titled and garaged in, not where its purchased. I know, PITA. Here we have Delaware 90 miles away with no sales tax, but we have to pay MD tax when we title the cars here.

:( Don't be too envious of us. We may not pay sales tax, but the get us for a 2.5% Excise Tax on automobile purchases.
