  1. Sorry Ed but the Service Writer never gave me that information. In fact he hadn't heard of any vibration issues until I mentioned it to him first which prompted him to check for the service bulletin. Did your tech check for recent TSB? I'd be curious to know if he did because I've only made the 280 mile one way drive to the dealership for service once. And I would really like to hear if that fix was actually a fix or just a hoax to keep a new owner quiet?

  2. Thanks for the reply! But I'm hardly a "rook" when it comes to a black paint job on a vehicle. I've been driving black since 2004 starting with an F-250 Supercab, 2007 Harley FXSTC, 2008 12'X16' dual axle trailer, 2010 KIA Forte Koup and now the Lexus. All of them black! I use Meguire's Hi-Tech Yellow Wax #26 on them and a lot of it too!!! Black in New Mexico is a pain to keep clean between the constant blowing dirt and giant bugs but a high pressure wash, spot free rinse and 80 mph ten minute blow dry drive usually does the job. I use a simple Swiffer to keep the dust off it.

  3. Thanks Jeff for your post. The vibration I had was at parking lot speeds and up to perhaps 35mph. And though I can see how aerodynamics could play a role or even be the sole cause of a vibration, I don't think that is the problem with any of the low speed vibration issues. In order for the satellite antenna to be the cause of vibration in a 4,600 lb. heavy car at low speed (under 35mph) it would have to be enormous to have such an effect.

Wouldn't the cause of a "low speed" vibration on such a heavy vehicle require a mass in motion at a high rpm?

  4. Sorry to hear that the update didn't provide a cure. And I couldn't agree with you more about the money spent on expectations here. Hopefully your Service Manager comes up with something good for you. Starting my first vacation over 7 years next weekend, I'll be driving mine from to New Mexico to New Jersey, New Jersey to Virginia and then back to New Mexico. That should give mine a pretty good workout. Going to start out the trip with 3,500 miles. I'll post the results after I get back. Best of luck to you and yours!

  5. Been in contact with The Crutchfield Advisor Group regarding an aftermarket remote starting system. They mentioned that they have no information on the 2011 LS460 L AWD for either the Viper or Code Alarm systems. They're looking into the feasibility of using the Code Alarm CA6552 remote start paired with the Carlink Smartphone module.

I'll post the results when I hear back from them.

  6. Anyone know if there is a remote starter that will work with the stock proximity keyfob available for a 2011 LS460 L AWD? I'd prefer something factory but haven't found anything out there yet? Even a good quality aftermarket would be a consideration but most out there don't seem to want to work on models with the proximity sensor system?
