  1. After I posted this topic, I wrecked it. It's done.
  2. '95 LS with 220k. When backing out of my driveway in the morning, the car goes in reverse with no problem. However, when I put in Drive, there has been a delay lately (up to 10-15 seconds) before it triggers into gear. Sometimes tapping the gas helps it get into gear. Today I counted to 60 with the car in drive and no movement. I pressed the throttle, but felt like i was in neutral. I checked my fluid level, but seemed to be fine. It looked low, but I assume that's because the engine was cold. I turned the car off waited a minute and tried again. Ultimately, it got into gear and off i went. Called my indy toyota guy and said a rebuilt tranny could be $4,000, but they don't do repairs. Any other options? What about the transmission specialists I see around town? Desperate to extend the life of my prized lexus. Thanks for any advice you can offer.
  3. When driving over bumps there is a klunking sound or could be described as a distinct "knock" like something is loose up front. I had my lower ball joints done last year. Also, when I'm breaking, there is a slight vibration or "shimmy" felt. The guy who did my breaks said my rotors were fine. Any ideas?
  4. Is this an issue? Should I worry about cleaning? I'm not too concerned about this, just want to extend the life of the car. Thanks '95 LS400 218,000 miles
  5. I assume this is a coolant leak. Easy fix? Is this a sign of other problems? See photo. '95 LS400 218,000 miles
  6. My fluid level drops and a grinding sound starts with each turn. Sound quickly goes away when fluid is added. Need to add fluid almost monthly. 2 years ago I replaced high pressure hose. No obvious signs of leak left on driveway. What could it be? Bad pump?
