  1. The guy down the street from me is thinking of getting rid of his 96 LS, Its gold with the gold pkg and tinted windows.  The guy took great care of the car.  It looks great!  Rumor has it that he is thinking of trading it in for a new car.  Obviously I'm pretty interested in the car!  According to the book (kbb.com) the trade in on it is about 5,500, assuming its got 150k miles.  What do you think he will actually get on it if he traded it in?  The dealers always screw you on the trade-ins, so I'm clueless as to what to offer for the car.  I'm hoping that he is willing to cut me a break!

    Hi,

I got mine with 63,000 for $11,000 ( LS400 96) and im very happy with it. If you can get it for $10,000 and below buy it its a great car you won't regret it....

  2. I sure would like to know when, and if, you plan on selling it.  I would be interested.  My wife currently has one of that vintage and loves it.  I might want a matching pair.

    Hi,

I got mine at 63000 miles LS400 96 model, I already have it service twice ,evry 5000 miles. I spend $150 for oil change and what ever comes with it. I have the power steering pump replaced because its leaking and selonoid filter cleaned plus the rear brake done. Price $2000, but the perk is i get a loaner of what ever model i choose if it is available. also i get free coffee STARBUCKS , popcorn and cookies. How is that? all this from the dealer. And one more CAR WASH IS FREE....... :cries:

  3. Hi,

I just have my LS400 96 model with 67000 miles serviced by the dealer . They told me to have my timing belt replace price $1500,the reason they gave me that it is aged, What does it mean ?. Do ihave to replace it because the car is 9 yaers old or should i wait for 75000 or 90000 service , which ever comes first. What is the average dealer price to replace timing belt and water pump?. Can this be done by other shop. I need your input.

    Thanks,
