  1. The best fuel injector cleaner I've found is Amsoil PI (around $10 and use it every 4,000 miles). When I got my 96 LS400 (103,000 miles) I was getting 18 to 19 mpg mostly on the highway--and yes, I'm a leadfoot. I changed oil to Amsoil 0-30w (which a petroleum engineer friend of mine told me was the best synthetic oil available) and then ran the PI treatment though it. My mileage increased to 24.5 mpg. I've since changed over to Amsoil Oil and Air filters and tranny fluid. I am NOT a distributor of Amsoil products, nor am I related to one. I'm just a very satisfied customer.

The oil is up-front expensive, now about $11/qt, but you only have to change it every 36,000 miles or two years, so it ends up being cheaper than other synthetics. Just change the oil filter every year if you don't put that much mileage on your car.

  2. I managed to boost the mileage on my 96 LS400 (103,000 miles) from between 18-19 mpg to 24.5 mpg (mostly highway miles) by changing oil to Amsoil 0-30w and running Amsoil's PI injector cleaner through the engine (you put the cleaner into a full tank every 4000 miles). I'm NOT an Amsoil distributor and I am a leadfoot driver so I never get the best mileage, but this improvement totally sold me on Amsoil products.

  4. I have a 93 LS400 and the power antenna keeps running for approximately 30 seconds after the antenna is fully retracted. You can hear the stem grating over the antenna gear in the housing until it finally shuts down. It doesn't appear to have anything to do with the antenna mast as I have installed a new one. I have also taken the unit apart (greasy job I might add)and there is no broken pieces inside or any other flaw that I can detect.

Anybody have any idea? A bad resistor or something?

    Thx!

I don't know how to fix your problem but my 96 LS400 did the same thing for about a month then I heard a grinding noise and the power antenna stopped working. I don't have a repair manual. Do you know how to fix my antenna?
