  1. I take my rx to a 100 almost daily on the freeway...it handles fine, you just have to know how to drive at that speed...only bad thing is due to the front wheel drive, you can really wear down your tires.  I just had to replace my tires when I took it in for my 5000 check up.  Luckily my LX was fine.

It's not about driving skills but rather the amount of acceptable risk. You may drive 100+ by yourself, or not, but I won't push this vehicle with my family on board. If I need to go somewhere by myself, I take my Silverado with Duramax. :P

I didn't mean my driving skills were superior to yours, I just meant if driven right it can handle those speeds fine.

  2. One thing that I just remembered was a problem was the delay setting....I had it set for the longest delay between "wipes" and it seemed like it barely was working during rain...but if you shorten the delay between wipes, it might solve some of your problems. Sometimes it is just going slow and you don't think it is working at all.

    Just an idea. ^_^

  3. I have the 2004 LX470 w/ the bluetooth/navigation system. It has voice activated dialing but I haven't messed with it yet. As far as dialing while you are driving, I do not believe there is an easy fix to this. The wiring for the navigation system used to be more basic and easy to bypass but with the newer models it is much more complex. If you try to tamper with it you are more likely to mess up the entire dash than actually fix the problem. While it is inconvient, there really isn't a worth while solution that has been found to bypass the problem. I guess we will all just have to be happy with the fact that we even have bluetooth in our cars. :)

  4. hows the hurricane?? i hear its a mess, frickin 4 in a row!!!

Lol yeah it's crazy...the hurricane has passed me and no damage to my house, but a lot of trees are knocked over. Nothing new from the other hurricanes. Hopefully no more come here but we still have 2 months left of hurricane season. :cries:

  5. LoL Thanks for the offer but I have a connection here where I can get all the windows tinted, including the front window for $220. So unless you can get me a better deal than that minus the gas to drive over there, thanks but no thanks. :D

  6. I was considering tinting my windows on my RX330. I wanted to get the "mob" black tint on all the windows but my car is white. I am worried about the contrast between bright white and absolute black. Does anyone else have this type of tint on a white RX330? Do you have many problems w/ the police in regards to your tint?

Could you also post some pictures so I can see how it looks?

    Thanks,

  7. M3 if you love to drive and feel passionate about it. GS if you love to drive and don't want to feel the passion. Of course, with the M3 you are most likely to get to know your dealer on a first-name basis, probably not the case with the Lexus.

Two different animals, fitting very different styles. I'd seriously consider reliability:

JD Powers on the 2004 M3

JD Powers on the 2004 GS430

I've had a 3-series, albeit not the "M". I do admit, there is no comparison in the driving experience. But I do appreciate the reliability of the GS. I can count the squeeks and rattles in the GS, on one hand, even if I were missing some fingers. I'd need a whole lot more fingers to count them in the BMW!

I was going to do a 3 year payment plan for the m3...Do you think that it will hold up maitnence wise for 3 years? Once I pay it off I'll most likely sell or trade it in for a new car. Will the resell value hold strong for just 3 years?

  8. i just got a rx-330 and its limited to 110mph. can i flash my ecu or something to change or remove it?

    thanks

I've been to 85-90mph with our RX330 and it seemed light on the road and I wouldn't push one anymore than that. :(

  9. Has anyone else had the problem of not being able to download the phonebook into the lexus bt system, as Kort is having?? (Kort, correct me if im misunderstanding the problem you are having with your phonebook).

If I recall, I thought DB S600 did this without a problem.

I can only transfer over one number at a time, instead of the whole phone book at once.

  10. I haven't heard that, although many people expect a big change dor the IS ifor 2006. I'm not sure there's much info available yet.

Yeah, I have been keeping an eye out for the past several months and haven't been able to find anything about the 2006, I can only find info on the new GS. I guess we will have to wait and see. :whistles:

  11. Also, I see that the manual more or less states that no call can me made while moving...does anyone have a way around this? If not, this is a major downfall of the Lexus bluetooth system, in my opinion.

In regards to that I'm sure it is something similar to the DVD fix, if not the same thing...I am asking around so when I find out more I'll let you know...I want to install a toggle switch that lets me see DVD while driving and switch to my backup camera when not in reverse.

  12. razr v3---looks very cool, but do you know if that will work with Verizon??

Glad to hear about your experiences with lexus bluetooth...they sound positive for the most part.

I'm not sure if it will work w/ verizon but you can check for updates at the web page:

    http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/hellomoto/...html?flash=true

I used to be w/ Verizon but wasn't really happy w/ the customer service they provided. I switched to Cingular and found out recently that Cingular bought AT&T Wireless so in about 5 or 6 months they will be merged with will hopefully further enchance the coverage and reception.

  13. I saw on someones car where they had a toggle switch. When it was flipped up, the DVD player came on, when down, the rear camera came on, and middle was off. Does anyone know how to do this? If you could let me know I would greatly appreciate it, or maybe a reference to a past thread concerning it.

Also, will this then allow me use the bluetooth phone when I'm driving or is there something else to get around that?

    Thanks,

  14. I have heard from several people that the 2006 IS and the 2006 GS are going to be the same car? Is there any truth behind this? If so or if not, does anyone have any reputable links for pictures, stats, and pricing?

    Thanks,
