  1. Likely an Air/ Fuel sensor. Take it to Autozone and get them to scan it for the code. That will tell you which one needs to be replaced.

man.. i would hate to take it to autozone but i guess im going to have to just to make sure. are there any alternative besides autozone? either way, the light turned off after i unplugged the battery and plug it back in, though i still want to make sure everything is fine.

    thanks

  2. Any suggestions as to the problem and fix? The gas cap is tight.

I had this warning light come on after I had the valve springs replaced on my IS350 with the factory recall. Engine started shutting down and running very poorly. Took it back to the dealer and I was told that a module had come loose that the mechanic had not put on correctly. It was a quick fix and no further problems.

so since this happened after you recall, did you have to pay for anything for them to get rid of the light (fix it). Im on extended warranty and kinda afraid that it will cost me an arm a leg to fix it.

  3. this just happened to me earlier driving down the hwy. i have 63K miles and on the extended warranty. would Lexus cover the VSC issue if they find something wrong? or do you guys have any suggestions on what to do? also, would it be ok to take this to toyota? i live no where close to a Lexus dealership.

  4. ok team,

I tried looking through the whole forum to see if anyone's talked about this but no luck.

Well, I had my front brake squealing issues a couple of months ago and told Lexus about it. They asked me to have my brake pads be replaced with genuine Lexus brakes. I guess the guy before me had installed an after-market brake pads and screwed it all up. So no, I had them replace the brake pads and I just noticed lately that every time I hit the brakes going from 30mph and up, the car shakes and it just doesn’t feel quite right.

What do you guys think the problem is? The squealing is gone but now the car shakes.. which is worse?

    Please help

    Thank you

  5. They could really only do so much with an intake. No matter how you look at it, its merely a large diameter tube with a filter on the end. The reason that most after market intakes makes more power than the stock intakes is because they allow more flow by way of a higher flowing air filter and a smoother intake tract.

I vote you go with what ever one is cheaper, just make sure you get a quality air filter. There won't be much difference otherwise.

    Makes sense.

    thanks

  6. So, both cars we have just hit 60,000 miles (IS350/RX400H). Where do we go from here? besides changing the oil and the air filters (engine and inside glove compartment), what all else do you guys recommend doing? According to the nearby Lexus this is what 60K service looks like:

"Replace engine oil and filter, Replace engine air filter, Replace engine coolant, Replace brake fluid, Rotate tires, Road test vehicle, Courtesy car wash and interior vacuum. Alignment and balance of wheels is recommended, but not included. *Synthetic oil extra.

    Inspect the following:

Valves (audible inspection), adjust if necessary, Drive belts, Fuel lines and connections, fuel tank vapor, vent system hoses, fuel tank band, Fuel tank cap gasket, Charcoal canister, Exhaust pipes and mountings "

Can I do any of these on my own? what do yall suggest?

    thanks

  8. so i've been having the exact same problem with mine, and called the dealership to let them know. they said that they will do a diagnostic on my car and see what's going on. the guy said he has not encountered that problem at their shop. i have to pay for diagnostic and if they find something wrong with the brakes, i have to pay out of my pocket.

@NicLX470 - how did you get it for free from the dealership?

    need some advice.

  9. Getting a white IS 350 with navi/ML, parking assist, and G-Spider 70,000 miles for $24K. What should I look out for when purchasing this vehicle? It has all the service records and carfax is clean from a authorized Lexus dealer. Will the valve spring be still covered after 70K miles?

    thanks!

In case you didn't know, Lexus has a recall out for the valve springs. You may want to take the car in and see if it's been completed or not.

completed or not.. you'll be alright. you can always take it in whenever you want and they will provide you a rental lexus vehicle. check the tires as well.

good luck, i have the same exact one and i love it.

  10. Just want to give you guys an update, so here we go.

After Lexus told me that it's definitely my bulb that needs to be replaced, so i did and that what i did this past weekend. I got a brand new pair of HID Xenon bulbs and replaced both sides. Last night i drove my car for the first time at night on my way home from work and came to find out that it was doing it again. the driver's side light was out and it was the same issue, exactly the same.

so seriously, any help? ideas? on whats going on with my headlights? this is pretty crazy. i hope theres a fix to this, i dont feel like getting stopped by cops for this.

    thanks

  11. So, I called to my warranty people and they said it's not covered if it's the bulb but if it's something else, ae. socket or electrical wiring, then it should be covered. my argument is why would the HID bulb go out so early? i thought they're suppose to last atleast up to 100K? you guys have any input on this?

  12. Did Lexus diagnose the problem? It's either the bulb or the ballast... or a more complicated computer issue. I doubt it's a bulb issue since you state they switch back and forth...

yeah Lexus "diagnosed" the issue. but I also felt like the dude was bull*BLEEP*ting his way out of the problem. he just kept contradicting himself. I didn't want to waste my time. I don't think it's he bulb either. could it be the sensor? guys, any help?

  13. Hello friends,

Question. HID lights: I've recently been experiencing some difficulties with my headlights. once in a while, night time, either one of the headlights, left of right, would all of a sudden turn off. but after pulling to the side of the road and turning the lights from auto to off, both headlight turns back on. is that weird or is it just my headlight are going out.

keep in mind that my is350 is a 07 and she's got around 55K in her. so is this about the time to change the bulb? is it an electrical or bulb issue? if its the bulb, wouldn't it just turn off completely and never turn back on? these things are quite expensive, they are quoting me $420 for everything, bulbs and labor. any ideas?

    thanks

  14. I'm not exactly sure if anyone's done this before, i surely have not. I was wondering if it's cool to paint the factory wheels black? would it damage anything? would it still be balanced? would the weight of the wheels change a lot? is this not recommendable?

I love my wheels just dont like the color of it, i've always liked gun metal or black wheels or rims. I have a cousin who did the same with his gold STI wheels and it looks great, he's not had problems with it. we know a guy who can dip the wheels and oven them.

    what do you guys suggests?

    thanks

i want it to look like the pic attached.

    ANYONE? ANYONE?

  15. Hello every bodies,

I'm a new member in this club. I'd like to ask fellow member experience about to owned a IS-350.

I am planning to buy a used is350 07-09 around $25K, and around 40K miles.

My question are -What is most common problem that is IS350 has under100K miles?

    - Do they have any defect usually will occurred?

    - How are normally lifetimes of those low profile tires? specially they can't be rotated.

Thank you for your times. Very appreciated.

    Best regard,

    Eric

Just got me an '07 IS350 3 months back (used) about the same amount and mileage you're looking for. I know this probably won't answer any of your questions, but i just wanted to let you know that I am very happy with it and will not get any other car but the IS350! I love my car and I'm sure you will too, if you do decide to get one.
