  1. Start with the easiest, check all the fuses the ECU seems to think the lights are on with the dash dimming working.

There are 2 fuse boxes one under the dash and one in the engine bay.

The washer fluid level warning is a common problem caused by the sensor attached to the reservoir there was a repair guide somewhere on the UK forum.

Thanks, guys, will check it out.
  2. This is a 1998 LS400 (UK version). The hazard lights work, the parking lights work, the fog lights work but the headlights work only on "flash" rather than the full on (have tried auto as well, no luck. At the same time but I suspect separate issues: the gauge needles not their usual bright white selves (they are now the nightime blue regardless of daytime/nightime setting; the navigation map no longer gets dark when dash illumination set to nightime; the windshield wiper fluid light on permanently though I have filled it up; finally when I last topped up the gas tank the range figure did not reset and neither did the mileage covered since last refueled and, of course, one of the a/c temperature displays is no longer lit though the numbers are clearly dsplayed.

I'd be most grateful for any and all suggestions. Thanks and all the best.

  3. I have always had an inaccurate speedo in my 2007 LX470 (current odometer - 29k km's). Using my Garmin Nuvi 760 GPS, when the GPS shows 60kmh the speedo shows about 63kmh, when the GPS shows 100kmh the speedo shows 105kmh and when the GPS shows 110kmh (maximum speed in NSW) the speedo shows nearly 120kmh. My local Lexus dealers service centre says this is normal and "within specifications". You would think with todays electronic systems they could get a speedo to measure accurately? Or, am I just an OCD Engineer who expects Perfection (or at least the persuit of it?) <_<

I should note, my LX has the 17" Lexus wheels with Dunlop Grandtrek AT22 275/65R17 115T tyres.

It is the same on my Ls400, my Porsche and was the same on my VW - I think it is deliberate!
